Here in Norway we have to pay VAT for any private import that exceeds 200 NOK in value (about US$34 at the moment).

I'm hoping to avoid paying that tax! So I was wondering if you consider that the value for the DVD itself is only a part of the total $35 price for the TMI season subscription, and put only, say, half of it as the value on the parcel?

I think for season dvds the value is put down as $1 or something similar.

Unless it is marked as gift you will pay taxes no matter what the cost of package. You only qualify for tax free if you are actually bring it home with you, ie you been on holiday and you brought something etc.

But you may get lucky and not pay any taxes.
