Iīm totally lost.

Itīs supposed to be a sHOCK, the symbol is a pinty finger, and a touch that hurts is mentioned. My guess: an electric shock.

Guybrush does get a shock whenever he leaves Club 41, but I canīt see the reason, nor can I use the sponge with the door. I thought the hook might be the solution, but even directly after leaving it is not electrified. And using hook and exit does not work either.

Another way would be theelectric shocker from DeSinge, but how would I repair that?

Or am I at a completely wrong track?

you might want to build some static elecricity before walking out of the club 41 to make the shock a bit more powerful

I had to go through the door 2xs and then all was well.

chobits1, you could've gone through the door x100 times and still doing it wrong - you need to build up some static electricity on the non-red carpet(that hanged above the water barrel behind Stan's before). You could do so by walking on the carpet back and forth until there's a short monologue from Guybrush and then exit the club 41.

Aaah! I got it! Thanks a lot!
That was a hard puzzle I think, but makes sense! :P

Yup you build up the same static electricity irl with a balloon rubbed on your head(with long dry hair). And on some cruisers they got carpets built into the floor that you can quickly rub your shoe heels on and shock bypassing fellow travelers through your fingers.

This is static electricity at it's finest though:

but the question remains: why the hell does he get a shock when exiting club 41?

but the question remains: why the hell does he get a shock when exiting club 41?Presumably the door has a metal handle.

Well, he has still walked across the carpet; just not enough to have a huge effect.
