People who only play Culture Shock through one time risk missing a lot of little easter eggs in the game. A few weeks ago Brendan put together this list of things you may want to try the second time through. (I've played the game half a dozen times, and I never even found most of this stuff!)

Note that there are great big honking spoilers below. Read them at your own risk. (Click on the white area to see the spoiler.)

Did you...

...cause a traffic accident in front of Sam & Max's building?

...hear an a capella version of the Soda Poppers theme song?

...get all six symptoms of Artificial Personality Disorder?

...demonstrate all five possible inkblot obsessions to Sybil?

...see the entire four-part documentary "Oh, Is He Still Alive?"

...see an ad for Emetics: The Handbook for Multicolored Bliss?

...wake up Specs first, then Whizzer?

...wake up Whizzer first, then Specs?

...knock out Peepers before rescuing Sybil?

...try to buy the cheese from Bosco a second time?

...try to buy the tear gas without money a second time?

...buy the tear gas before Bosco had mentioned B-TADS?

...ask Bosco for different items until Sam ran out of ideas?

...show the symptoms form to Bosco?

...complain about every mental problem to Peepers?

...repeatedly try to arrest Peepers after rescuing Sybil?

...hear all of the previous jobs that Sybil once had?

...look at all the objects in Sybil's office during free association?

...show Sybil all of your objects during free association?

...spray paint odd things, including during free association?

...use the antenna in various places?

...use the ten grand on things or characters besides Bosco?

...hear all of Max's general megaphone comments?

...(including when you're chasing the Soda Popper)?

...hear all of the different ways Max says "Pull over"?

...hear all of the different ways Max says "Never mind"?

...accuse a driver of every possible crime?

...repeatedly look at irrelevant things while Max was missing?

...talk to Max in every location at various stages of the game?

How do I get the first one?! I am intrigued!

Shoot at the "One Way"-sign in front of the office
That was one of the first things I did :D

Loved this one:
...ask Bosco for different items until Sam ran out of ideas?
"I ran out of ideas..." - "You could always start all over again..."
I laughed HARD at that one...

Man, I loved Sam & Max.

I really think they're the greatest cartoon characters ever conceived.

...And I read a LOT of cartoons.

Second to them would be Calvin & Hobbes.

And then the Life in Hell characters by Matt Groening.

And then Bru & Boegie.
;)

Nice Easter Eggs, by the way. I found some of them on my first play through.

Loved every second of it, except the driving sequence. The controls are almost non-existent. If that could be fixed in future releases, so much the better.

Well done Guybrush!

You must have had a lot of things to say to have 100 posts!

Excellent :)

I see you live in Italy - Italians must have a lot of things to say!

Hm... I got very little of those. This only adds to my theory that the game was just too easy. Normally you find things like this when you're stuck and you mess around with things. But if it's always obvious what to do next I don't think of things like that.

That's somehow making me sad because all the adventures I played in recent years got me stuck at some point (due to badly designed puzzles mostly which is not a good thing... but it could have been due to complex puzzles, too) but there was nothing else to explore because they were very one-dimensional (Syberia, for example). Now with Sam and Max it seems that the world could be really fun even if you're stuck... but you just don't get stuck (not even in a good way). What a waste of ressources... maybe I'll feel inspired enough to replay it to experience all these things... but I doubt it.

Oh, therobbot, I do sympathise with you, oh yes I do.

I donīt know if this has been mentioned, just because I havenīt played the full episode yet and donīt want to read the spoilers. So, feel free to remove this if itīs been already mentioned.

Anyway, did you check out the old case file at Sam & Maxīs office? It has a date on it. Check it out. "That case was particularly gruesome." Luckily now we can laugh at things like this, thanks to Telltale.

Hmm... I'm gonna have to start all over again because I missed like... half of those easter eggs.

Just wondering, is there any way to get the psycho-analysis to imply that Sam is gay? I mean, with the wedding cake and the weenie in the hole... Ya never know.

Nothing too explicit, but if your "guest" in the dream is Bosco or Max, Sybil will laugh at you when you choose the wedding cake, and say she's very happy for you. :p

And how about fruitcake and an empty closet? I have the feeling that all the references to gay-things are there on purpose, but Telltale didnīt want to make it too explicit.

Meowzy
12/08/2006, 02:49 pm
Really? I never saw the fruitcake. And I always put a camera in the closet... I guess I'll try the fruitcake some time soon. XD
(that thing about Sybil being happy for you, she says it in the other two instances too.)

As predictable as it was, Max's remarks about the Nachos had me laughing so hard. I think I clicked on them 5 or 6 times more just to hear it again and again.

Sneaky Telltale, slyly putting in an ad for Enemics as a hint for things to come.

When's the list for Situation: Comedy coming out? I need some replayability!

I am just wondering if anyone mentioned the fact that the box on the file cabinet in the office is dated 3/3/04, which is when the lucasarts sequal was cancelled. I am sure that was not a coincidence.
