Problems running Tales of Monkey Island

I've been having problems running all the games in the Tales of Monkey Island series. After installing, I run the game and the title screen comes up, but the cursor is very jerky and I don't have much control over it.

My laptop comes in just under the minimum required specs, so it may be that I just need a better computer! Or maybe my drivers need updating.

I hope someone can help,

My specs are:
Athlon 64x2 Dual Core Processor (1.8GHz)
4 GB RAM
NVidia GeForce 7000M

Probably the graphics quality setting is just to high for that graphics chip.

changing the graphics quality
Start the game.

Select "Settings". Click the red arrows until you see "graphics settings".
Set "quality" to 1 and test the game. If you want increase it as long as it runs well.
