ToMI does not start at all

Hi, I have been playing chapter 1-3 of ToMI without any problems on a rather broken Vista installation (could not install service packs), I decided to finally try to fix it which (of course) ended up in a complete reinstall. The new install work very well except that ToMI chapter 4 does not start at all! The loading cursor shows for a few seconds and then nothing. No error pop up or any other indication on what went wrong. I have now upgraded to Window 7 which I hoped could solve my problem, but it is exactly the same. I have also tried with chapter 3 which also gives the same result.

My display is set to 32 bit colors and I have updated DirectX with the web updater and other drivers as well.

Including dxdiag output on Windows 7.

You can take a look into the "application" part of windows "event viewer" after trying to start a game. Set a filter for "application errors" there to make it easier to find earlier attempts.
If you find anything related to the game you can copy the details by right clicking on the entry.

That's sad. So we don't know anything about what's going on.
There's a horribly long thread (http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9771) about that issue with various solutions that worked for some people.

But before you try to fight through that we can try to keep analyzing it.
What software have you installed after installing Windows?

You should also try that clean boot thing. I think it should be similar for Windows 7
Msconfig for Windows Vista:
To Boot Clean in Windows Vista

1. Click Start --> Run --> Type MSCONFIG --> Click OK
2. On the General tab, choose Selective Startup
3. Uncheck Load Startup Items
4. Select the Services tab
5. Check Hide all Microsoft services
6. Click Disable all
7. Click on OK
8. Click Restart.
9. After reboot, run game to see if it works.

After performing the necessary steps, restore your system by doing the following:

1. Click Start --> Run --> Type MSCONFIG--> Click OK
2. On the General tab, choose Normal Startup
3. Click Ok
4. Click Yes, when asked to restart your computer
