How many people are happy that their marriage stayed together? I personally thought it was a good ending with integrity and value.

I am.
I could be happier though. Just replace Elaine with Morgan. Keep the goth dress.

How many people are happy that you posted spoilers in the main topic?
I think this one is fairly obvious, it was always going to turn out that way I think, but still. Careful!

I'll say it flat out: it irritates me when a poll like this is put up where you have no option to say, "No".
Personally, yes, I AM glad. But it would be interesting to see who ISN'T--who thinks Guybrush and Morgan, for example, might be a better couple long-term--and putting up a second post with basically the same subject line just to add one additional option feels foolish.

I was rooting for Elaine in the long run. As much as I liked Morgan, all I wanted was for her to be happy with the ending she got, and I got that.
And besides, Elaine had better cleavage. Morgan overdid it a bit. [/obligatory boobs joke]

Well, I'm happy that they stayed together but it was always an obvious thing so it's more like I never actually worried about it.

So, needless to say, I won't vote here.

Hmm, if Morgan wasn't still dead I'd consider putting together the most convincing Guybrush costume ever. I don't go for ghosts, though. And I only go for fictional characters in theory, so in practice it doesn't matter anyway, I guess.

Personally, I'm glad they remained as a couple. It's very much evident in their dialogue that Guybrush and Elaine love one another very much, mutually. Besides as much as I like Morgan as a character (even though she did somewhat get on my nerves in "Lair of the Leviathan"), she and Guybrush don't have very good chemistry together, as a romantic couple at least. Friends, yes, but quite honestly nothing beyond that.
And to be completely honest, I'm MORE surprised she didn't end up with Winslow, for some odd reason. ;)

Yes, but that was for the betterment of all, or at least himself. Besides, the plebian masses need enslavement, I mean guidance, to help lead fruitful and productive lives, however short and brutal they may be. ;)

Actually you asked "how many people" liked it... so, it would've been interesting to see how many are glad as opposed to how many aren't.
As for me, I AM glad they were "cemented as the Power Couple of the Caribbean", as it was said in a certain article a while ago.

No. no no no, no no, no no. no.
And not for reasons of other shipping either.
Elaine's betrayal of Guybrush was heart breaking, and I feel it did not get the recognition of being so heartrendingly awful as it should have. As a player, I found Elaine irredeemable after that point, and while I didn't want guybrush skipping off to morgan to drown his sorrows in an afterlife rebound, I felt that integral damage was done to the structure of Guybrush's marriage. But I guess Guybrush really is a masochist afterall.

Well, I never was a big fan of them getting married to begin with. But the damage is done, and I doubt we'll see something as dramatic as a divorce in a Monkey Island game. If that happens, it'll happen between games, and with no real detail. But he'd be cracking a lot of jokes about it, no doubt.
"I warn you Guybrush, these mountain paths are nerve-breaking!"
"So was my marriage, but I still survived"
"Give me all your money or I'll stab you!"
"You're not Elaine, and I claim my five pieces o'eight!"

I dunno, I just saw elaine as a not good wife for the first time in the series at that moment, when all through the season I have been hoping for them to stay together.
A wife who loves you doesnt run off to turn into a demon bride mere hours after your death regardless of "plans", and a loving wife certainly doesn't spray your essence with rootbeer after you show up to try and rescue her.
Bad Laineykins.

Laineykins was posessed by some kind of voodoo god-crazyness-type-thing. She didn't really mean to spray you with rootbeer, honest!

Exactly how I felt. I felt after Morgan's actions fair enough she didn't get him (and was never a big supporter anyway), but Elaine's betrayal if anything was worse. So why should she get him back?
Besides trusting LeChuck (though stupid) is not the same as "Yes, I'll be your demon bride. Especially since my husband is still not entirely dead."

Well if you choose to look at it that way, then the episode technically ended with Guybrush placing an engagement band on Elaine's finger (though unlike the last time he put that ring on her finger, she wasn't a gold statue at the time).

Maybe season 2 will start with their second wedding!
Either way, I'm glad. When I saw the options for the poll I could tell there would be some hate from the people who didn't want them to stay together, but I must admit I smiled to myself. It would have been out of the Monkey Island spirit to actually break them up.

Before Tales , i hated Elaine. She had never been affectionate with Guybrush, and then with me :D . With Tales characterization , I fell love of Elaine, so I'm happy that the marriage continues. I loved Morgan, but she seems the perfect partner in adventure, more than she was Elaine. However, i must say that she was a beautiful and fascinating temptation!

i am not. and a poll with 4× “yes” is missing something.
marriage is outdated now and it had no value for pirates back then.

Marriage is outdated now? Geez, somebody's bitter.
And I'm pretty sure Guybrush puts value in things that no "real" pirates "back then" had value in. I'm pretty sure Monkey Island isn't set "back then", anachronistic elements isn't really something to complain about in the Monkey Island universe.

You know, I'm surprised so many people see Elaine's plan as a betrayal and not see it the way my friend saw it. (and how apparently Morgan saw it too)
She needed to get her hands on the cutlass so she came up with a last-minute plan, all that "HAHA LECHUCK IS MORE POWERFUL" stuff was acting to fool LeChuck, but for some reason Guybrush didn't see it. (I'm guessing to make it more emotional or to set up for Morgan's speech) She was then hypnotized, which is pretty obvious, (check out how her crown glows when she's a demon and how it stops when she goes back to normal) thus why she sprayed him with root beer.
Now a lot of people blame Elaine for the whole ordeal but what about Guybrush? My friend pretty much shouted out during all that "really Guybrush? Really? You really think your wife of ten years is just going to go bipolar all of a sudden and marry LeChuck on the spot? Are you retarded?" and then when we went back to the spirit world, Morgan said almost the same thing! Now me, I don't blame anyone at all, I was just glad that Guybrush was lucky enough to have Morgan be the smart person at the time there, but really Guybrush was acting pretty crazy during all that too, Elaine isn't the only one.

Although it would have made for some great drama had Elaine divorced Guybrush, I don't see who she could marry, joke characters aside. As much as I like Morgan, I don't think she would be a good wife for Guybrush, either. Divorce has the potential to be an interesting plot twist, but it's one that probably won't happen.
Morgan Le Fay sounds way too similar to Morgana Le Fay for me to fully trust her.
