isnt a follower of voodoo and her a diffrent force is behind her motives and the ring bring him back to life wasnt a part of voodoo the Voodoo lady said it was a diffrent spell that restorse his human form so mabey somthing is controling Elaine witch would explane the strangeness in chap 5

To reply to your question, I think the "different force" was supposed to be the strong love Guybrush and Elaine share for each other. Simple, but logical, isn't it? "Guide, Anchor, Courage, Sacrifice" - that's what their love / marriage stands for, isn't it? And it has, as such, nothing to do with voodoo, right?
