What happened with that? Did someone win? And did their line make it to chapter 5.

I seem to remember a totally unfunny line being in the lead. Or did TT scrap it altogether?

Designer for a day contest? I believe the winner was for chapter 4 with the "He ruined my perfectly good X" line.

Also, care to be more specific about the line in chapter 5?

Yeah, "he dug up my perfectly good X" got it (if that's what you're referring to). It was in Chapter 4.

And I STILL don't get the joke. Is it that Guybrush thought it was a treasure marker X when really it was just an X that was buried there for some...other...reason?

It was a blatant lie. The perfectly good X was probably not so perfect after all.

Whether it's 'perfectly good' or not isn't the point or even the key part of the line - the joke is that it's funny to think someone would put an X on the ground with the intention of it remaining there intact with so many pirates around.

Obviously explaining a joke doesn't make it funny to people who don't get it, but I thought it was really amusing.

Oh right........it was in chapter 4! I don't remember that line winning though. I thought the one about George Bush was leading?

At least, I think it was George Bush.

If that line made it, I think I might have punched myself in the face.

I liked that line, it was executed well enough, perhaps it could have been used better when Franklin was digging in the treasure hunting part of the crossroads of chapter 5 to have the character say, 'Hey you're digging up my perfectly good X' might have been more in context, but oh well, i'm happy either way. Isla Mono for the win!
