A colleague - incredibly intelligent, but with a very abrasive personality and a total disregard for social niceties. I really REALLY disliked him and hated having to interact with him, which was disturbing because it's very rare for me to have strong negative feelings about someone.

I guess there's a fine line between love and hate, because eventually he grew on me, we dated for a while, and remain firm friends to this day. :)
