I've never been much of a football fan, but in the past I used to watch it with my dad, mainly for the commercials and the sake of just spending time with him. Though the tradition has fallen away in recent years due to his waning passion for football in general and my preoccupation with university.

All I can say is, as a native of south Louisiana, where the partying was already over-the-top due to Mardi Gras related revelry, the things I've borne witness to today and the days leading up to it have been memorable indeed. I'd have driven to New Orleans if I thought I had any chance of making it out alive. Instead I've settled for watching the lunatics on Bourbon Street from the comfort of my home amongst my extended family while increasing my calorie intake by roughly 350,000%. It's all good. And I don't watch football.

I saw Superbowl, it was totally awesome, I had no idea what the rules are, but it was cool. I chose the nicer colors, but unfortunately that team lost.

Easy explanation. One guy gets ball, other team tries to stop him from getting to their side, and vice versa. Also there is something about dropping and passing the ball...I don't under stand it either.

So everyone's a piece. It's just that you can move all your pieces in one go, and there is a melon-shaped ball involved. The rest stupidly has no difference whatsoever. I'd also mention about the scoring system, but god noone cares that anyway.
I mean come on! All the "moving the pieces to the other side of the board" and "if you can jump on another guy from that distance, boy you have no other choice" applies.

You only move a little bit at a time, and both sides always take a little bit to think before their next move. Football and baseball are both sports that I think are more fun to play than to watch, especially since the HD broadcasts of baseball games introduced the super-fun crotch-cam angle. *shudder*

I've never watched an American football match. I don't think they are aired over here. The way i understand it, it's pretty similair to rugby, only less aggressive (due to the huge amounts of padding you guys get, whereas rugby players get basically none)

The padding is there for safety purposes. The entire goal of the game is violently tackling whoever has the ball if they're not on your team, or knocking people over trying to get the guy on your team that has the ball. If not for the pads, no one would last in the league more than a couple seasons without getting career (or life) ending injuries.

Ah, the endless debate: is American football less dangerous than rugby because they have pads, or do they have pads because it's more dangerous? Or both?
At least American football players don't get their ears bitten off by the other players. I know the players go through much worse than just getting their ears bitten off, but that has always scared me the most for some reason.

The only football I like is the one with the properly shaped (i.e. round) ball!

I was hoping the Saints'd win. Not a bandwagoner though. I've just always liked 'em. Steelers are my favourites though!

They banned the superbowl here in Australia. I think one of teams went insane and started shooting at the audience with handguns. Something like that.

Lethal animals, apparently.
Lethal animals, apparently.
Some guy near Sydney, in an area called the Blue Mountains, had like a private zoo and he had a panther, but it got out and people keep spotting it.
