I know it's kind of a long shot, but I don't really know where to start, so why not here?
I've been part of an amateur theater group (linked to my discipline's student society of my university) for a few years now. Every year we perform a full-length play. We're not stellar, but we like to think we're not that bad either. An interesting aspect is that we do everything ourselves: acting, directing, costumes, sets, lights, etc.
Next year, I'll be directing (co-directing actually, we always do this in pairs) our new play. I've done it before two years ago to great success, but a big problem then was finding a suitable play to perform. Over the years, we've done some great stuff, but almost every time we just got lucky getting our hands on a good script.
Obviously, I'd like to find a way to eliminate the luck factor. Does anyone here have any experience with this? Where should I start looking?
