You say "I've never SEEN this much science". And it's all "check THIS out", and BOOM! More science!

Caught this on second playthrough. Must...have...on t-shirt. Or tattoo.

As soon as I heard that line, I thought "that sounds a lot like something Strong Bad would say". It doesn't really sound like Sam at all.

Good line in any case.

I was waiting for my bus to school, then that line just popped in my head and I started to laugh uncomfortably.

Best story ever.

I guess is part of Sam been excited for stuff he just doesn't understand. I mean, somewhere he must learn all his useless trivia.

Wait, how do you get this line?

Click in the iThink something at Momma Bosco's.

The name keeps changing. If you're facing Momma Bosco, it's of the left side of the room, on the end closest to the mole tunnel.

It's totally out of place. He sounds like a hipster. That's why it's funny =)

...I didn't find it all that humorous.

I was laughing because it was unexpected. And because is a good line.

It's a bit out-of-character for Sam.

It's a bit out-of-character for Sam.

But still rather purposeful with the gesture and all.

It's a bit out-of-character for Sam.

I thought it was him channeling his past super-geeky self for what it's worth.

Also, SCIENCE!

I thought it was funny. I didn't think of it as out of character, so much as the character is consciously making a joke, and thus saying something strange and humorous on purpose. That's how I read it anyway.

Exactly. It's like Guybrush saying, "Right On. Dude."

I thought it was a bit meh. Subtle wit is more my style in Sam and Max. Or random TOMI references, I like those too.

The joke is the fact that Sam has no idea what it is, but he's trying to sound smart.

I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself.

It was the chavvy hand gesture which did it for me. :P As you can see from my avatar. The funniest line for me was probably when you read the "Meesta Pizza" sign...as you can see from my signature.

I loved this line too. As to it being out of character, that's the joke, Sam is so not gangsta, so it's funny to see him try :P

Max: Weren't we supposed to be looking for clues, or something?

I did that three times

It's a bit out-of-character for Sam.

The joke is that he's trying to impersonate a hipster sarcastically.

This is a portal reference fyi, don't any y'all be thinking I'm insulting him. I'm not... maybe...

What exactly *is* "subtle wit" anyways?

It can also be defined as "comedic media that the unwashed masses have never heard of, revered by the few who know about it, regardless of actual quality".

Example:

Hipster: "Pardon My Kippers was the greatest sitcom in history. It's a shame only seven people saw its three-and-a-half episode run."

Unwashed Mass: "Isn't that the show which consisted of nothing but fart jokes?"

Hipster: "To the layman, yes. But each fart joke hid layers of subtle wit."

"When I Explained PBS to My British Friend"

Me: ... so they basically show educational and "intelligent, highbrow" programming.
Friend: What do they consider intelligent and highbrow?
Me: British programming.
Friend: Oh really? Like what?
Me: "Are You Being Served" and "The Vicar of Dibley".
Friend:  ... erm, Dawn French is really funny, but ... highbrow?
Me: I don't think they can actually understand anyone's accents enough to realize what they're talking about.
