Mojo website is gone! [domain name expired]

I just checked mixnmojo.com and it came up with what I have uploaded a picture of. What's going on?

Found the problem. You have to put /index.php after the web address.

EDIT: It stopped working again.

I'd say someone forgot to renew their domain registration before it expires... :rolleyes:

Of course, if some DNS server between you and it's regular nameserver has still cached the old IP mixnmojo.com pointed at you'll still be able to see the site...

I'm afraid that's just because a DNS cache will cache www.mixnmojo.com and mixnmojo.com separately (since both could point to wildly different sites), but as soon as that cached mixnmojo.com entry (which is probably cached on your ISPs end, so it'll only work for you and other customers of your ISP anyway) also expires you'll have the same problem the rest of us has.

Don't worry, this has been sorted, it's just taking a little while for it to percolate through the rest of the internet because of caches and stuff.

No, I assure you the site is quite well and UP. There's just no domain (at least not mixnmojo.com) pointing at it currently.

That's like saying an island vanished off the face of the earth just because the only bridge to it collapsed... :D

See, that's the fun thing - if someone posted the correct (i.e. old) IP address of the server everyone could (temporarily, until this is resolved) throw a line like

123.234.345.456 mixnmojo.com www.mixnmojo.com

into their hosts file and get to the server just fine.

If, on the other hand, the server were just a smoldering heap that wouldn't be possible...

Of course it is. DNS caches rarely take longer than a day to refresh. For most people the bad entries were probably only there for about 12 hours.
