I'm surprised there isn't a thread about this yet. What are your hobbies?
I recently acquired a new hobby: Taping empty soft drink cans together to make a long stick. Over the course of 2 days I've skulled over 5 litres/over 1 US gallon of Pepsi Max, to make a tower that is 14 cans high, over 1.7 metres!
Here it is yesterday:
http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1565&stc=1&d=1275581185
And here it is today:
http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1566&stc=1&d=1275581691
So,
1. What do you think? Will I be able to get it to 50 metres?
2. What are your (obscure or not) hobbies?

Not quite as impressive as what I saw (http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/7601/p1000702va.jpg) at the AC/DC concert while everybody was waiting around for them to come onstage. Somehow, I think they were getting restless...

Are you serious? Those are just plastic cups! I could nip down to Woolies, grab a few bags and top that. That isn't impressive. It takes skill to drink soft drink and tape cans together though. Lucky my living room roof reaches to 5 metres!

No you can't. They all closed down. (Assuming it's short for Woolworths as that's what we called them in UK).

I think my hobbies have been established as knitting, posting pictures of myself and hitting on males.

Computer work. Software and hardware. Also, music making/composing/playing. It's a great joy to just pluck away on an acoustic guitar and create new pieces....or just play anything for no purpose at all.
And adventure games.

Drawing, a loooot of drawing. Though I hope to make it my career so maybe it wont be a hobby some day... damn. Also I'm not sure if this counts as a hobby yet cause I only started yesterday but yesterday while shopping at my local Forbidden Planet (a nerd store, praise the lord) I found these cute little things called Munny's

You basicly paint em and make them look really cool. Being a loser I painted my one to look like the medic from TF2 but now that I've done one I crave to do more, hopefully more orginal ones. Sure does kill time and their lovely nic-naks to sit in my room.

Reading, playing videogames (mostly adventures), going to the cinema and watching some TV series. I'm also in an amateur theatre group and in two chorals. And in my spare time I go to work.

Everything. Seriously, I have so many hobbies that the ones I don't have now, I probably will by the end of the year.
Just a few: gaming (obviously), reading, writing, singing, instruments: piano, french horn, and pitched percussion, fencing, making small models of things and painting them, sketching cartoons, cooking/baking, martial arts, and, most recently, juggling.
There's probably more, but I can't remember.
Edit: I forgot sailing.

It's not that difficult. Once you've got the basics down, then the rest just falls into place naturally. The hard part is finding a good fencing instructor who will teach you good form so you have a strong foundation to work off of. Also, if you fence epee (which is my weapon of choice) the only rule is: stab the other person.

Then fencing is definitely for you! Sign here for this limited time offer!
Yeah, I could never understand the "right of way" rules in foil and saber, but I love epee. Nowhere else can you stab someone on the bottom of their foot and have it count as a touch.:D

Anyway, my main creative hobby is sprite art (http://guruguru214.deviantart.com/). Unfortunately, I spend much more time on my related uncreative hobby, video games.

One of the students in my Japanese class was a fencer! Her was actually a robot engineer or whatever that's called, studying Japanese because he got a job there, but he did fencing and showed me some moves.
I like fencing, it looks much more elegant than most fighting games.

Hobbies? Hmm..... what do I do? I don't think I have any hobbies really, I mean, all my hobbies are things I'm trying to someday make a living in. I act and sing, and write, and sometimes shoot my own little short films.
And then I swim (but that's my part time job). I play adventure games, and I read books, but really that's about it.
I wish I could draw, there are so many images I have in my head, and there is just no way to explain them through text, but I know I could depict them properly if I could draw or paint.

Fencing is very elegant, which is something that you see a lot of people forgetting in tournaments. I was lucky enough to find a coach who encouraged me to prefect my form and view fencing as an art as well as a sport. He always would say that fencing is all about "prettiness" and that it was preferable to lose with perfect form than to win with sloppy form.

I juggle/use "circus props", my main props are flower/devilsticks (http://www.firetoys.co.uk/juggling/wizard_lunastix_space.html) and Diaboloing. I have about 7 diabolos, my favourites are:
The previous version of this (I have 2 of them), (http://www.firetoys.co.uk/juggling/mr_babache_finesse_g4_diabolo_red.html)
This (http://www.firetoys.co.uk/juggling/Mr_Babache_Tornado_Diabolo_pink.html) with a wide axle, (http://www.firetoys.co.uk/juggling/mr_babache_evolution_kit_1_finger_axle.html#aBF_2f EVO1)
and these 2 pairs (http://www.firetoys.co.uk/juggling/mr_babache_energy_diabolo_handsticks_green.html) of handsticks (http://www.firetoys.co.uk/juggling/mr_babache_xtreme_diabolo_handsticks.html).
It's a great stress reliever, and is a fantastic way to loosen up muscles.

Yeah, I'm 22 1/2 and I've had all of three drinks, and I honestly don't see the appeal. And smoking I don't even have to try to know there's no appeal for me.
That said, my friends do like to drink some, and one of my friends will have a smoke every once in a while, and I guess it doesn't really bother me. I think the only way it would bother me is if one of them smoked regularly.

I think they get money back for the cups at certain venues, the last few festivals I went to did this to promote econessness cos they recycle them or something (meaning they rinse them out and give them to the next customer :p
Then they take there hardly earned cup money to buy grass, which they smoke near you, and the circle continues Simba...

When I went to concerts in France, there were no cups.
Bottles of water (1.5L) where handed out, and you'd take a sip and pass it along.
People in other countries seem to find that extremely disgusting. Personally, I've drunk from the same bottle/glass as lots of people and I don't find it gross. Possibly risky since you could get whatever virus they're carrying, I guess, although I've never been sick after going to a concert.
Anyway, so we didn't have cups to stack. Nobody smoke anything either. Was a lot of fun though.
