Very, very slow downloading

I bought Sam & Max: Culture Shock, download installer program, then I got trouble:
Transfer Rate was very slow, abt. 4-90 kbps. Download-progress crashed all the time. Installer return error: "Problem encountered with Internet connection (ARM 1056, 12002)". (I have 2 Mbps ADSL) I went on downloading until I got whole package. Of course it didn't work because of damaged file. What should I do?

Are you using a firewall or proxy server? These can sometimes interfere with the download.

Instead, download Culture Shock here (http://files.telltalegames.com/games/Sam_And_Max_Culture_Shock_Demo_Setup.exe). This does not use the same download manager as the other version, so you should be able to download it okay, but it will not activate automatically for you. (The same factors that cause problems with the download often cause problems with automatic activation, anyway.)

To activate, click Activation Support on the first game screen and follow the instructions to get an activation key.

Just today, Digital River released a new download manager that they say will resolve many of the download problems people have had, so you might want to give that a try. Anything you download through the Find My Order (http://www.telltalegames.com/support/findmyorder) page should use the new download manager. Please let us know how it works for you.

I lost due a hdd-crash all my Downloads (*sigh*). When I try to download from digitalriver.com (through find my order) I get max. 7kb/s - which is very slow for my connection. The demo from telltalegames downloads with 280kb/s. But, oh well - the Season-1-DVD will be mine soon :-).

For those getting these slow download speeds - how do you connect to the internet and what are your speeds usually like?

I'm sitting behind a Router. My ISP is T-Online (Germany).

Usually I get speeds around 250k.
