I just finished Episode 1, and after listening to the closing music and viewing the credits, it returned me to the loading screen, where I heard a click, followed by traffic noises. The cog to click on to make the menu appear was there, but faint. Clicking on it produced no response.
I had to Alt-tab to the desktop and close the game from the taskbar. I doubt this was intended.
