So what's everyone dressing up as for halloween?
I'm being rather predictable and going as a pirate... but I'm quite excited about carving the pumpkin haha
Oh and if anybody didnt already know, dave Grossman does some pretty nifty pumpkin carvings (http://www.phrenopolis.com/pumpkins/index.php)

I'm going as a pirate as well (makes for a cheap costume though I had to scrounge a bit to get the pieces for it). My house is having a Halloween party saturday night, so I'll probably toss up some pictures of the costume after that.

Well, Halloween isn't celebrated in Germany. Halfhearted at best by some overweight kids who want even more sweets.
Germans tend to dress up on carnival around February.

She’s right. Also, this is no costume, just a good looking hat.

Why are you holding the hat and why the hat has a tea in it? :D

Just a quick shot from Saturday night at my mate Shell's party, that's her with me cutlass to her neck. Used the same outfit for the London Zombie walk earlier in the month, but grew my beard out to attempt a proper go at Zombie Pirate Lechuck, also made the epaulettes for the jacket, but my favourite part is the fancy neck ruff. :D

Thanks. Surprisingly it only cost me 3 pounds.

The belt cost me three pounds, that was a bargain - unfortunately I probably paid above average for the rest!

I think my costume in total cost me around 20 pounds.
Basically it broke down like this:
Vest: £9.00
Flintlock pistol: £3.00
Earrings: £1.00 each
Sash and bandana: £3.00 each
Shirt, pants, boots: already owned
Cutlass: snagged it from someone in the house

Bought the vest, earrings and flintlock pistol at a fancy dress shop and bought the sash (not visible in the picture) and bandana (they were identical scarves) at an open air market in town.

It's good to improvise! Originally the long coat I wanted off ebay went up to over £60 so I begrudgingly gave up on it - but I adapted my expectations and managed to find a Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band outfit that no-one else was bidding on. So ideally it wouldn't have been so shiny but at least I found a red coat!

I went as Morgan LeFlay for Halloween, as a few might have seen on the Halloween blog post. I thought I would have better pictures by now, but oh well, I'll post my entry again if someone didn't see. XD

I also carved a MI pumpkin, but my friend hasn't sent those pictures yet. :(

I am, which made me very upset that I ran out of time to make real gloves , bootcovers and a sword. (And the belt buckle, but I got that on before Halloween.) I briefly considered a fake tan, but I came to accept that I'd have to live with my deathly paleness.

It took quite a bit of effort for me to even figure out what was supposed to be going on with Morgan's tops. I eventually came up with a separate corset, vest and shirt collar to make it look the most accurate. A lot of effort for an obscure video game character that no one recognized! ( At least my friends were in the same boat, one was drowned Ophelia from Brutal Legend and another was from Bioshock.)

Deathly pale my *** - at least you weren't green ;) Ah, I got boot tops for mine, but I tried them first at a Zombie Walk in London and they kept dragging on the ground so I thought better of it. Only one of my mates got the Lechuck reference and his response was pretty much "yeah, you would." The others at the party just thought I made a freaky pirate...

Ooh, I love that you found a cow to take a pic with and worked the old swordfighting insults in, Renzi! XD

I was planning to make a Morgan LeFlay costume myself but real life got too crazy for me so it didn't happen. I actually wanted to do mine for New York Comic Con a few weeks ago rather than Halloween. Maybe, next year.

A friend and I made Curse of Monkey Island versions of Guybrush and Elaine for the con instead since they're much simpler. Sadly, almost no one recognized us; other than some of our cosplay friends, only 2 people realized we were wearing Monkey Island costumes. :( This is the only picture I have with both of us so far. My brother was our photographer and still has to process the rest.

Bumped for Purim (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Purim), the 'Jewish Halloween.' Soon I will post my friend's and my (this feels like wrong grammar) costumes, and they are awesome, if I may say so myself.
Is there anyone else here who celebrates Purim?
And why isn't this thread on General Chat?

Now that I think of it, my costume isn't related to Monkey Island, but this is still the most appropriate thread that I could find. I dressed as a Knight who says Ni (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knights_who_say_Ni). My helm took me about a week to make. (I already had the black cloak and I couldn't find a way to get the fur collar thingy.) My friend dressed as my squire. He made his costume in a day, yet it still looks more impressive than mine. I gave him the coconut halves (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheCoconutEffect).
So here is me:
http://img543.imageshack.us/img543/8804/knightg.th.jpg (http://img543.imageshack.us/i/knightg.jpg/)

And here is my friend:
http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/3854/squirer.th.jpg (http://img29.imageshack.us/i/squirer.jpg/)
(Notice the tree and the herring on his banner and tabard.)

During the Purim party in our school, I 'rode (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheCoconutEffect)' around the school, and sometimes said Ni to people. Everyone who came saw us. If you make a fool out of yourself, (which is basically the whole point of the costume custom in Purim,) why not do it in style?
Also, it is worth noticing that not so many people know about Monty Python and the Holy Grail in Israel, and fewer of them are in my age. All of the English teachers from Britain recognised it, though, as well as some other teachers and my friends.
Edit: Unfortunately I do not have a picture which shows us in action. (that is, 'riding'.) However, many other people took pictures of us, so I might find one in the future.
Edit: Here is one from my school's website! (I hope that you can see it.)

Here is another picture which I managed to hunt in the school's Purim video:
