View Full Version : Free Grand Adventures offer

I saw the offer of the Grand Adventures DVD free with any order and was wondering if the episode downloads will still be activated in my account. I prefer to have a downloaded copy and it will take a while to get the series shipped to me from America. (I may even get it sent to relatives in the US and collect it when I next see them)

Also, the offer doesn't appear to work yet, but I expect that will be fixed soon! (I have a discounted upgrade, so I don't know if that's causing the problem.)

O.K. - how does this special of today work exactly? You pt W+G DVD in Cart put ANY other purchase (like BTTF/Puzzle Agent for example) in Cart and you only pay the other Purchase and shipping? W+G Online Games are also activated then?

Then it ist not woking - How can I contact the support?

I'm interested in the W&G Grand Adventures DVD offer, and I'd like to know whether I can take advantage of this offer in conjunction with a purchase of Sam & Max: The Penal Zone for the iPad?

It's just that whenever I click to purchase this game, I'm shifted over to the apple itunes website. And somehow I don't think the W&G Grand Adventures DVD offer is valid when purchasing through apples itunes.

Pretty sure you can't get S&M Season 3 on the Ipad here in TTG's shop, so yeah, that won't be possible for you.

A few hours left for the deal to run - still it does not work! What use does such offer have if it does not work? Sorry If I seem to get rude but time is running out!

I have another question: After reading in this forum that the retail version is different from the Collector's DVD (no activation code on the retail DVD) I have asked myself which DVD the offer means since it says "RETAIL"...then of course the only DVD I can chose is the Collector's DVD because retail DVD is not in store (at least I counldn't find it). Maybe that is the reason for the problem?

The deals begin and end at midnight at Telltale's time, so that'd still leave a little over 13 hours left actually.

As Amy Lukima said in the pinned topic you can add the games you want to the basket, including the DOWNLOAD copy of Wallace and Gromit and then use this discount code EWG-6HV-KZX to get it for free.

This discount code gets you the digital version. You can get a physical DVD copy for free afterwards in a seperate transaction, as you are entitled to it when you own the season digitally. I think you will still have to pay any applicable postage charges for the DVD though. (Free to the US as far as I know)

Perfect as I wanted to get this shipped on a 50% off day (fingers crossed) so I could get free shipping and some cheap stuff :p

I assumed that. I meant order the game now. Then the dvd later, as the offer implied it was only valid on dvd version ;)

Maybe I'm blind, but what pinned topic??

I don't see a pinned topic anywhere, and the code you reference still isn't working for me - says it is invalid - and when I now go back to the "30 Days" calendar page, it's showing the banner for TOMI for $20 agaibn (like yesterdays deal) , not Wallace and Grommit!

I'm confused!!

Did they change the daily deal in the middle of the day because the W&G one still wasn't working, or something??

What's the status of this deal? I was going to place an order when I got home from work, but it doesn't appear valid anymore. Unfortunate, but I'll have to pass on the purchase I guess.

Amy,

Would you mind explainbing what happened and why it's no longer valid?

Will you be "re-running" the W&G deal later during the sale at least, since it never worked today?

I tried it, can you please let me have the deal thanks

you have no right to take it off without contacting me first. I paid money sure its 0.01$
but there was no refund there.
and Id rather the season 2 pack or poster set or a shirt and W&G but you stripped me of this. This is bad considering what my record is with telltale and what I buy
woke up today to play part 2 and it was GONE..

both digital AND DVD

amy I tried it, can you please let me have the deal thanks

Your Order ID: 600089333021884 DVD (WHICH I PAID 1 cent thanks!)
and
600089253645348 which was the digi

BOTH were in time, so the deal should apply just direct me..dont just take it away and say HA.. or some unsaid thing.

Lol, i lost digital version and dvd too.:(
i mean, i understand the free shipping could be a bug and you delete it but the digital version, c'mon, you gave us the damn code, at least you could send us an email or something to say us "Hey, we are free to remove games from your game list, deal with it".

my point exactly !
its not good to say hey.. dont get upset at staff, when the pretty much mess up (and we get that..we understand.) but stripping a game and DVD.. due to an error on their end?

tsk tsk..
im thinking they will help, but if not well... soooo yea.. I feel.. sorry.. raped.

hoping we get at least a reply.. its the least they could do...
still somewhat early yet but.. amy should have replied about why and what....really did happen.
then we should get recompense
or..... gulp..

I'm not so bothered myself about losing my copy of Wallace and Gromit, it was free. What I am bothered about is the loss of a game I actually paid money for in the same transaction! (Thus fully following the originally intended rules of the offer)

Although saying that, im quite upset about losing Wallace and Gromit, as I would have bought Poker Night on Steam in the current deal for less than £2 if I didnt get something extra by buying it here. :(

As it was I paid the GBP equivalent of $4.95 +currency conversion charges.

I never gave anyone a code for just free stuff: once again- Wallace and Gromit was never free from the start, the banner read: Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures Retail DVD FREE with any purchase! (regularly $19.95)

Free Shipping with any purchase over $50.

If you didn't have something else in your cart and didn't buy anything else today the order canceled itself.

I gave our forum members the code so it would force add, but many people decided to abuse this which didn't matter because our system deleted those orders.

If you didn't abide the rules of the sale you are not going to get anything.

Where's the original post for this code? Maybe if it would've been made clear to everybody how this worked, it wouldn't have been a problem. Should've posted this on your Twitter, for example. I had a friend just send me the page link to W&G and the code, and said "Hey, Telltale's giving this away for free today!" So I thought, "Damn, Telltale just keeps getting more awesome. Those guys rock." If I knew I was supposed to buy something to get this, I probably would have; I've had a good opinion of Telltale for a while.

Instead, now I'm agitated by this free gift being taken away without any explanation (the least you could do is send an email to everyone who used the code to say "Hey, this wasn't supposed to be like this. Sorry.") So yeah, no W&G DVD, which really sucks. Was looking forward to the extra animation shorts.

But the other confusing thing is that I already downloaded and installed the games, and I can play them. So.... what was the point of deleting them from our accounts exactly?

It was never a free gift, nobody from telltale ever said it was a free gift. You just said yourself you never saw the original post. once again- Wallace and Gromit was never free from the start, the banner read: Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures Retail DVD FREE with any purchase! That's just so great. If you'd get a code from someone and you enter it and everything works fine you would still order other stuff because it's right? I don't think so. As I already told you in my e-Mail I had planned to buy other stuff (Poker Game) and tried it many many times with your not working deal of the day - only after this didn't work and I found the code I entered the games and the coupon - since it worked that way I thougt it would be o.k.

But don't bother to TELL anyone that the code although working is only valid for one day if you don't do as the offer told you...If I'd paid as much as 1ct. there would be a valid contract which you broke...since I did't pay anything there is no valid contract but it still is not nice. Do you really think that I wanted to not spend 5$? No - but - as I told you before - everything seemed to be working and I could not know (because it was only a workaround from your side) that you'd do such a mean thing to a true customer (check your account, I've paid all my last games). This is not a behaviour to keep customers happy and I don't know If I want to buy where the seller does just what he likes and doesn't care for the customer.

Oh - and thank you for calling me abusive!

And here's the code first mentioned by you:

"And todays special is not working for some reason so please use this coupon code. "

No word on "Please buy other stuff too as written in the offer - else everything ordered will be gone the next day"

Alan Johnson
12/08/2010, 11:25 am
Oh - and thank you for calling me abusive!

I don't think Amy was saying YOU abused the code. Like I said earlier, just one of many examples of the abuses being done were 7-10 DVDs being added to orders with no shipping fee. Shipping is roughly 6 dollars for one DVD. The phrase 'one bad apple spoils the barrel' comes to mind.

Totally anecdotally, I've placed orders on items at huge retailers such as Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Target, etc. and due to an error on their part, pricing or availability was wrong. More often than not, the order was simply cancelled and that was that.

Graxer
12/08/2010, 11:26 am

I am not judging anyone though. I was tempted to do the same, I just came to a different decision.

THIS is the information I was asking about. Like I said, a friend just sent me the link and the code, and said it was free. I had seen nothing else about any deal on W&G from Telltale otherwise yesterday. According to Twitter, this was the deal yesterday: "Today's 30 Days of Telltale deal: Making a triumphant reprise, the Deluxe Edition of Tales of Monkey Island is $19.95! http://bit.ly/bQLt0V"

That's why I was asking where the original post about this code is, so that I could look at it and see "Yeah, it was really meant to do this, and people abused it." Then I would be able to see your point. I simply asked for a link.

SunnyGuy
12/08/2010, 11:42 am
Yeah, they changed the deal during the day I'm guessing because of how the code was getting abused, not good for business *shrugs*
