I dont know if anyone else has had this problem but every time I click play on Back to The Future there is a load screen for about 5 seconds and my computer restarts. I am using a PC with Windows XP. any suggestions? I have installed and uninstalled the game multiple times always ending up with the same results

Please post a dxdiag log.
dxdiag
Windows XP: Go to your start menu and click on run. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter
Windows Vista / 7: Press the windows key on your keyboard or click on the start menu. Type in "dxdiag" and hit enter.
Now click on the button that says "save all information".
It will prompt you to save a file. Save it where you can find it.
Then zip the file (http://www.howtozip.com/indexsubmenu.asp?submenu=windows_-_compressed_folder_1) and attach it to a reply in this Thread.

Card name: NVIDIA GeForce 6200
Driver Date/Size: 10/29/2004 16:50:00, 3736704 bytes
Description: Realtek AC97 Audio
Date and Size: 11/17/2004 03:05:38, 2297664 bytes
Your drivers are 6 years old
Let's start with some updates:
- Graphics Driver (http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp-260.99-whql-driver.html)
- Audio Drivers (http://majorgeeks.com/Realtek_AC97_Drivers_d4400.html)
- DirectX (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3)
After you installed them all, it might run.
You will probably have to turn the Graphics Quality and Shadow Quality settings down, disable Antialiasing and reduce the resolution because of the low performance of your graphics card.

Unfortunately the problem seems to have gotten worse. I downloaded the drivers you recommended but now I when I launch it all I get is the main title screen with no playability. I think Im just going to ask for my money back. Thank you for your time.

Actually that's better, not worse. Before, your whole system crashed and rebooted.
Can you make a screenshot of the Main Title screen and describe what's not working?
In the worst case installing a more recent, even if cheap, graphics card should get the game running for you.

I don't know for sure what causes this. I would try:
- Reinstalling the game
- Running the game as administrator
- Disabling your internet connection before starting the game
- Starting the game during a clean boot
Booting clean in Windows XP:
1. Click Start --> Run --> Type MSCONFIG --> Click OK
2. On the General tab, choose Selective Startup
3. Uncheck Process SYSTEM.INI file
4. Uncheck Process WIN.INI file
5. Uncheck Load Startup Items
6. Click on the Services tab
7. At the bottom, check Hide All Microsoft Services
8. Uncheck all boxes in the window or click the button labeled Disable All
6. Click OK
7. Click Restart
8. After reboot, run the game to see if it works.
After performing the necessary steps, restore your system by doing the following:
1. Click Start --> Run --> Type MSCONFIG--> Click OK
2. On the General tab, choose Normal Startup
3. Click OK
4. Click YES, when asked to restart your computer

I got the game to work by following all those disabling steps except that's going to be a pain in the ass every time. How do I get the game to work without having to do that

You're welcome.
Is it possible, that some security software filters your internet traffic?
If that's the root cause, updating or replacing it might be a permanent solution.
