Problems with game

I am having problems with the first episode of Back To The Future as it cuts out shortly after choosing to have goals for the game and it then cuts out and wonder if anyone has similar problems and how to correct the error?

I should be able to run the game as the Sam and Max & Tales of Monkey Island games work on this computer.

Any help would be appreciated.
