Conker's Bad Fur Day for me.

Wolfenstein 3D. Guess what, I was under a year old.

Persona 3, though I used to watch my brother play GTA when I was in middle school.

The ESRB has only been around since mid-1990s, I don't know of "M-Rated" really covers that much of some of our member's game history. For example, one farther-back example that I can remember of a "violent" game that I played was Doom, though that didn't carry any rating because no such rating existed.

Come to think of it TF2.
Unless watching random family members play a wierd gta where cars fall from the sky counts.

A Mortal Kombat game I guess, actually owned though, MGS The Twin Snakes.

Would have been Doom for me too, as long as we are counting that as M rated. If not then it probably would have been GoldenEye.

Probably Doom if not a game like Prince of Persia...don't recall what games were rated. Maybe Street Rod if that was rated M...no clue.

RE4, if I recall correctly. Only for a few minutes though. Silent Hill 3 was the first I completed.

if you don't count TF2, it would be lugaruHD (if it is M)

Lugaru would be E10 if anything

Mortal Kombat? Or GTA1, I dunno. We have different ratings over here. Both were rated '18' which is as high as it gets... well GTA was anyway, I can't mind tbh

Wow. I had no idea TF2 was rated M.
I wouldn't swear to it, but I think my first M rated game would be Resident Evil 4. If the rating had existed, it probably would've been the original Mortal Kombat, but then RE4 would still probably be the first M rated game I played very much of, much less completed.
I wonder, though, if Guerrilla War for the NES would've been rated M. I played the hell out of that game when I was little, never knowing that the American version of the game was originally titled Guevara in Japan, and that it was actually a game based on Che Guevara's exploits and the fall of the Batista (with the second player being Fidel Castro). Of course, I had no idea who the hell Che Guevara and Fidel Castro were back then, so who knows if I would've cared anyway.

Wait... GoldenEye was M? I loved that game in elementary school. Totally tame by todays standards, eh?

The first M-rated game I played was Mortal Kombat. It was rated MA-17 on Sega systems which was Sega's rating system before the ESRB came about with their rating system. I have no idea what the first game I played that was rated M with ESRB ratings was.

Parasite Eve.
Mom had heard about it from one of her co-workers back when she worked at Borders. She knew I liked Final Fantasy 7 and since they were made by the same people, well, hey. No harm in it, right? So, she let me rent it.
I was twelve.

Huh, if GoldenEye is rated M, then I'm not sure. I hadn't thought about it, since I borrowed it so it's not on my list. I'm not sure if I borrowed that before or after I got RE4.
I should mention I was 4...
So last year, then?

Goldeneye is not Rated M, you guys. It's T.
Anyway, my first was, uh... hmm. Either Silent Hill 2 or Metal Gear Solid 3, but I can't recall.

Mortal Kombat was my first. Then I think Eternal Darkness was the next M game that interested me, but if Sanitarium was M rated, I played it before Eternal Darkness.

Leisure Suit Larry 7, I guess. I was six or seven years old when we got it (we bought LSL7 along with Full Throttle). Don't know what all those moral guardians are worrying about. I mean, I haven't become a sexual pervert or anything, and I'm sure most normal people wouldn't too :p

I don't know whether they are 'M' rated or not, but my first 'rude, violent, and gore' game was Duke Nukem 3D. I was about 8 I think. I just remember that my primary school teacher wasn't impressed that a girl my age was talking about games like that. :p I was also playing Doom II and Heretic and what-not around that time.

Doom for Sega 32X. And I was only 12 years old then, only 5 years away from being 17 at the time.

Ahh, I remember that game very well. Did you ever get nightmares about those weird tiger looking things with machine guns for arms? I don't know how to describe them.

Here, this thing. Does it look like some kind of cross tiger/alien to you?

Mortal Kombat. Granted I didn't play it on it's "official" release in '93 (more like '96) but hey, good times all around. I somehow was always able to do fatalities with Raiden. I loved Raiden. I loved his hat of death.

I don't think any of the games ever gave me nightmares. My brother and I had too much fun co-oping to be scared! Without that picture I wouldn't have known what you were going on about, but yeah. Tiger/Alien does seem to be the only way to describe it!

It's funny how you think that something so simple is such a big deal when you're a kid. I remember thinking the same thing when Razor said "damn" after she broke the piggy bank in Maniac Mansion. :)

Hmm, I have no idea what sort of rating is labeled on any of the games I've played. But Wolfenstein 3D was one of the first games I played ever so if that one fits the bill it's probably the one.
The first time I remember playing a game with an outspoken "for adults only"-label I was 14 and the game was Phantasmagoria 2. I got the trailer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NnjZoVokb80)from a cd enclosed with a Game magazine. I thought it was among the coolest things I had ever seen at the time. Those were the good old days. :D
