Problems w/ the full game

I purchased the full CSI3 game--and have experienced graphic problems. the screen flashes portions of my desktop and the tools will not show up in order for me to choose one.
The tools would show if I click on it and use it. It is by chance that I can pick the right one. I diagnosed Directx and it is functioning fine. Any Suggestions?

What kind of video card do you have?

If your seeing parts of your desktop, it's might that some other application is trying to draw directly to the screen. Applications like instant messengers and pop-up reminders can interfere with DirectX applications.

I don't do instant messenging--I don't activate it. As far as popups go My virus scan(Norton) lets me know if a file needs to be scan. Which is the one spotI constantly try to play the game. Help Me!
