View Full Version : What are you expecting to hear out of PAX 2011??

Other than E3, PAX most be the next 2nd biggest gaming convention event (correct me if im wrong on that).

1. I can't wait to hear what are Nintendo's upcoming plan on the next games to be unleashed on 2011, since they had such a good year in 2010.

2. Im expecting huge news from guild wars 2 (which is F2P) and im wondering if i will hear a release date. I cant wait to see more gameplay footage of it.

3. TTG's ever since TOMI was announced, it took me by surprise. I have learned to keep a watch on this company, and im glad to see it flourish the way it. It only keeps my hopes up, to see a finale to Monkey Island Saga and finally see it finished. (cuzz im tired of waiting 10 yrs to see a release, so i just want this game to be over with)

4. Elder's Scrolls: Skyrim updated footage. Seeing that footage still leaves me so speechless.

5. Expecting some news on Bioware's awesome game Mass Effect III. Other than that.

So wondering what you guys expect out of pax!

I think TGS and GDC are bigger, but I digress. Which PAX are you talking about? East or Prime?

I think that the Tokyo Game Show and Leipzig Games Convention are the two biggest gaming conventions in the world. Both have 2 to 3 times the attendance of E3 or PAX.

I think TGS and GDC are bigger, but I digress. Which PAX are you talking about? East or Prime?

GDC is actually a fair bit smaller than PAX (18,000 vs 67,000) but GDC still claims to be "the world’s largest professionals-only game industry event."

Unlikely, seeing as it's an event occuring 3 months after Duke Nukem Forever's release.

I expect screes and videos for Skyrim and Kingdoms of Amalur. I want info on King's Quest, but we won't get that till E3 :).

For me E3 gets alot of press to not be looked at, as the biggest gaming event. GDC i must shamely say ive never heard news of it. If you think about E3, all the console companies and gaming companies pull out the big guns on E3. I dont know about GDC.

GDC isn't for the press, which makes it a moot point if it doesn't get much press. Both Xboxes were announced at GDC because that way they can show it to the developers present.

Yeah, I thought "PAX" referred to PAX East too, and I'm just going to go there a week from now.

Anyway, I'd like to hear something involving Sam and Max... like, say, the uncancellation of Freelance Police... and/or Plunge Through Space.

You know, just to give DNF some competition for greatest "come back from the dead" story! ^_^

Thats what gets me confused about Pax East. I dont understand whats the difference between PAX East and PAX!? Isn't it the same?

You mean besides being at different locations at different times of the year? Hmm, I don't know. I'm sure all the gaming hipsters in Seattle will tell you they're nothing alike, but...


Anyway, as for news I'm looking forward to hearing about at any convention:

- Trine 2 news. I'm really looking forward to this one, and hopefully I'll be able to find someone to play co-op with.
- Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword release date.
- Anything that makes fanboys or haters rage. (X-Com, King's Quest, etc.) I find it highly amusing.

I was looking forward to Magicka DLC news, but they've already announced Magicka:Vietnam, yay!
