Jurassic Park Release date information/discussions

The one that got shut in the shed was NOT locked in and was the raptor who came in at the end just before the rex showed up.

That's debatable. There's obviously gonna be babies and juveniles, based on the fresh tracks Grant saw leading from the nest he, Tim, and Lex found. Since the other 3, (or 4. It's possible) were in the pen, there obviously had to be at least two or more other raptors that were old enough to breed.

Let's just say some things got taken out of context, some personal jabs somehow got thrown, it got sorted out, then started up when the user in question got a little technical with it, even though I do understand where he's coming from. Anywho, that's all I'm gonna say on the matter because it's gonna spark another round of it.

Makes sense. The two in the trailer are obviously bred in the wild, and there's bound to be more. How many exactly remains to be determined

Other than that, I'd say proximity. It's possible that there were other raptors close, but the nest was a fair distance away from the Visitor Center (to the East, South-East of it). If you look to the book for an excuse, the wild raptors flocked primarily to the south, where the volcanic vents were.

Then there's the movie making excuse: They only mention 3 in the plot, and three get shown (though not on screen all at once) to be close to one another at least twice (power shed, visitor center). The nest wasn't even really important to the overall plot of the movie; ending up just being a kind of throwaway reference to stuff that was integral to the ending of the book.

I also think that Jurassic Park will be out this week. I'm in the minority but I don't see anything that implies that it's delayed. I thought that the videos were taken down to promote a different game since JP is near it's release. Maybe there will be a delay but I doubt it. I've been wrong before though. We should know for certain today hopefully.

I have a feeling we'll know about a release sometime this week. Hopefully today. I did look at the Dinosaur Week article and noticed that it was written from San Francisco. Now, correct me if I'm wrong because I don't know where IGN's HQ is, but isn't it a tad Ironic that Telltale Games' HQ just happens to be in San Francisco too? Not to mention them using the Jurassic Park font for the title. Seems fishy to me. At any rate, hopefully Alan, Mark, Joe, or someone can step in and give us info on what's gonna go on. We're at the final stretch folks! Hold on to your Butts!

I still own nearly every dinosaur book I've had since I could walk (including 6 copies of Jurassic Park), I own practically every dinosaur toy I've ever been given, several dinosaur pictures, drawings, stamps, cards, etc, fossil replicas, JP prop replicas, the JP script, you name it, I've probably got it somewhere. Since I live so far from the museum here, I make it a point to visit at least once a year, if not more often. Paleontology has been my childhood dream, and is strongly becoming something I am considering pursuing as my career. After having met, and outsmarted, 6 Paleontologists at the age of 9, everything just really kicked into high gear. Plus I got a free hadrosaur vertabre fragment out of it courtesy of that group's leader, who commended me with my knowledge at the time. Still one of my most prized non JP related dinosaur artifacts.

I own almost every JP toy I've been given (it's all I would play with as a kid) save for one or two that I'm not sure whether I still have or not. My rarest JP toy by far is probably the JPS2 'Demon' Carnotaurus (which is currently misplaced, unfortunately), and possibly the Thrasher and Bull T-Rex's.

I own several fossils including the Hadrosaur vertebre fragment, some small Ammonite shells, fossilized plant matter, fossilized lava, corpolite (no dinosaur fossil collection is complete without dino dung), a possible partial footprint, and a fossilized tooth that my brother-in-law found in a canyon out on my dad's ranch.

As for replica's, I own a 10 1/2 inch musem quality Tyrannosaurus Rex tooth (root included), a 1/4 scale Tyrannosaurus Rex skull, a 1/1 scale Coelophysis skull in the matrix, a 5 inch Spinosaurus Tooth, a 6 inch Velociraptor claw (Jurassic Park prop based on the one Grant is seen using at the digsite in the first movie. Amazing prop) and finally a species record 11 3/4 inch Allosaurus thumb claw.

Ah, well that does make sense irregardless. Point in case, it does seem fishy to me that they'd use the JP font for dinosaur week and that the article was based in San Francisco, where TTG's HQ is located and just so happens to be making a JP game. To me, it just seems to add up that there will possibly be a release this week, most likely being Friday (hopefully sooner if it's possible). Let's hope Alan or one of the other team members can grace us with their presense and knowledge of what's going on behind the veil.

Nice collection i used to love playing with my JP toys especially my muldoon figure and later my roland figure but every time i would imagine them eaten by my dinosaur toys. (poor muldoon)

Muldoon was actually the first non dinosaur JP figure I ever got. Unfortunately I lost him, but I still have a few of the other figures laying around somewhere, mostly from TLW's toy line. I'm planning on purchasing the figures as they show up on eBay just to have a complete set. I could assign them as Park Staff for my JP Compound or something.

Ah, those were the days. I miss the days of JP dinosaurs with realistic skin and gory dino damage (best invention ever for a dinosaur toy) wounds. I really wish Kenner had kept the licensing rights to make JP toys. The ones for JP3 were lacklustor at best. I own almost all of those ones, but hard plastic just doesn't appeal as much as rubber and latex.

Fun fact, it would've been nice if Kenner had released the two toys that never saw the light of day. a 3 foot tall Brachiosaurus, and a John Hammond figure.

I used to have a Dilo from the first toy line, but it vanished long ago. The only JP dilo I have right now is the one from JP3

Grant was the one figure that constantly eluded me. No matter how badly I wanted him, I just could not find him. Hopefully someday I can find him loose (mint would be nice too) on eBay for a fair price. Same goes for Sattler, Muldoon, Malcom, Tim, Nedry, and all of the Dino Trackers/Evil Ryders line.

The Rex was the most normal looking one out of the bunch aside from the Raptors. They did look a little cartoony, but I bought them anyways because hell, it was still Jurassic Park, and I wasn't going to pass up a new JP toy to play with.

Personally, nothing will ever top the Series 1 Tyrannosaurus Rex from the first film. I've yet to get my hands on her, but she is definitely one of the most beautiful sculpts ever made

I did, however manage to land the Dinosaur Operation lab that came with the exclusive Allosaurus figure.

YUP, couldn't agree more. I don't know which raptor, the one with a red feather plume.

The 2k9 bull rex is SWEET, best thing to come out of these crappy repaints they've been doing. They still have them at most Toys R' Us in chicago, but they are on sale so better go grab it. Great paint job!

I'm treating dinosaur week the same way I treat convention coverage. usually the best products/brands announce their coverage later in the week while the first few days are for prieview nights as well as second and third tier companies. Where the JP game eventually belongs in the coming announcements I have no idea. but with such a license I think its pretty safe to say it wont be getting the short end of the stick.

Seriously why else has the "April" been removed from steam...now it just says 2011..and all the goodies and promotional content have been yanked. The only reason I would think the videos would be removed if the game release date still remains on course (as it really hasn't officially changed), would be that they are producing a new trailer to show off the completely finished product to accompany the final release of Episode One. Makes sense, as we have given lots of little helpful tips and such to Telltale which may have changed the game from the initial trailers we've seen.

I'm not sure exactly. On steam its automatic. but thats because its a dedicated system. With telltale the game is just saved onto your hard drive after you download it. so yeah you may have to enter it manually.

You can't preorder the game anymore because the preorder is finished. Tommorow is super tuesday (when retail games and movie hit shelves each week), the last tuesday of April, so that means a definete release tommorow.

Maybe the serial number hasn't fully circulated to all of those who purchased it yet. I didn't see one at first, but then it popped up. Just be patient, and if worse comes to worst, pm Alan or someone and bring the issue to their attention

your serial number isnt supposed to turn bold. its the title that turns bold, but that happens after you recieve your serial number. Heres the order:

1. Game is listed in your telltale games que.
2. Serial number appears .
3. Title of game is replaced with bold font.
4. Icon of video game appears on the left hand side of your list.
5. Download tab appears and game can finally be installed.
