I think everybody understood there was Xmas, and the new year etc... and they needed some time off.

But keeping on advertising a "monthly release" while 2 episodes out of 5 are actually not released within 30 (or 35 to be nice) days isn't really fair. I mean, either they don't say anything, either they do, either they keep working this way, either they don't.

They decided to go with it. So if it's the beginning of june it's fine, if it's the 30 not so much.

Even if it wouldn't be "the longest wait ever", the fact that there has been worse doesn't mean it's good.

a monthly release of episodes or complete full game ?
Hi Telltale Games is still is a computer games company
and you know that there are delays in releasing new games so maybe there is a delay this time too .
But if you ask me, so I prefer a complete and "more full" game even if it cost a dollar or two more,
But since I am a bit new in the games in episodes thing , so I say this
Innocence: When I saw this episodes game at the first time ,, So I thought that the game is ready to release as afull game and the release is something that determined by the Company.
But maybe it is not

Not only that but most of the series will revolve around Clara's new interest in having a singing career in the 1940s. Her performances quickly become sellouts and this changes the space time continuum in very subtle ways. (like old album covers with her pics on them). Also at the end of the series, their will be a flash back to Back to The Future 1, the movie, and in it Michael J will be playing one of the song's Clara wrote, then their will be a super epic drama of sadness about Doc's death and the importance of...not traveling through time. (he learns his lesson the hard way).

PSN ended up to be down today. So, does TellTale know when the PS3 version will be on the store? Will it be whenever they get the network up, or the Tuesday after whenever they get the network back up?

It would be the perfect cliff hanger for series 2. Where you get the Delorean along with Partridge family (Clara, Jules and Verne) and you must travel back in time and find a new way to save Docs life without messing up the time streams!!

Easy, you're preaching to the choir. I don't participate in harassment and I believe that Telltale should take as much time as they need with the episode. I'm not endorsing harassment in the slightest. I was just making a light-hearted jab at the more 'vocal' group of members, that's all.

Unlikely yes, but knowing TellTale's release schedule, it might be prudent to simply assume the last day of June, that way if it comes in late May or early June, it'll be a pleasant surprise.

For me I can't say I've had a lot of the bugs others have. I never had the spray cans floating by themselves, I never had the Delorean being back there in this last episode after gone. The closest I have come to a bug I've seen was the calling Marty different names one but I fixed that with the registry fix.

Other then that it's been pretty bug free for me.

The only bug I excperienced was the different camera views and its not a bug but the Trixie thing and not being able to walk on one side of the Delorean.

Aye, I saw different names ONCE and the apparently invisible Edna walking up to Artie in the fourth before reappearing, but otherwise, bug free describes my playthrough of the episodes.

And besides, it's almost impossible to correct all bugs prior to release anyway. Nevermind the fact that there are schedules involved, but there are just some things that slip through.

Telltale does fix things though. Poker Night at the Inventory proves that: initially there were a number of bugs, as well as some things set up confusingly, till they fixed them all in a patch and now it works perfectly all the time.

To be fair, they rarely fix things. They did fix Poker Night and they fixed Puzzle Agent as well, but those were the only fixes as far as I know, and the Puzzle Agent one wasn't fixed for months even though people could not even play the game!

The time machine was doc's only useful, working invention. That's the point; doc's like the golfer who hit double par on the first 17 holes and then all of a sudden hit a hole in one on a par 6; he's considered a crackpot and a failure and up until that point all his inventions are either useless or don't work. This is why he's so shocked in 1955 when he sees the flux capacitor; he finally invents something that works.

Q: The PlayStation Store hasn’t updated since April 19th. When can I download digital games that were planned to be released since then?

A: To date, three Tuesday publishes were missed, which included items like Under Siege and the MotorStorm Apocalypse demo. Rest assured that you won’t miss any of this great content. To catch up on the large amount of material, we’ll be publishing to the PlayStation Store multiple times per week once commerce functionality is restored. We will update the PlayStation.Blog with information on timing of the Store restoration, as well as the full list of new content as each publish occurs.

So once it comes back up we should get Episode 3 very quickly.

well the PSN is up in the NA region, but not the store. When the store comes up will BTTF3 be on there?

I hope so. That said, with the prolonged PSN downtime we're unclear on what, if any, effect it may have on Back to the Future's release schedule.

I know exactly what you mean. After all this talk about how interactions from the future can alter the past and essentially drive the world into an apocalypse, they pull a fast one and have Doc Brown accept the knowledge about his future. Granted, I know that this was Doc's life at stake but after becoming the moral compass of time travel for almost the entire movie, it was sort of a cop out.

On the other hand, it's one of my favorite lines of the movie so I let it slide and willingly suspend my disbelief. :)

Reposting this here too. Episode 3 was scheduled for May 3rd on PSN. If this is accurate that means we would see it the 27th.

Barring any additional problems, Sony plans to bring the PlayStation Store back online next Tuesday, May 24, according to a memo sent to the console's publishing partners.

The company has sent a tentative publishing schedule to partners detailing when their games, expansions and other releases will become available to players. In the memo, obtained by Gamasutra, Sony unveils plans to do two content pushes per week for the next two weeks to catch up with the backlog of content.

"We thank you for your patience as we work to resume service of the PlayStation Store," wrote PSN content manager Jack Osorno to developer partners.

The first push, set to coincide with the PlayStation Store's reopening, will distribute content that was originally scheduled to publish on April 26. Three days later on the 27th, another round of games will go live, which were originally scheduled for May 3.

The following week, pushes will take place on May 31 and June 3, using content that originally had been planned to be spread over three weeks. At that point, the company will be back on schedule and, presumably, return to a single content push per week.

While Sony is trying to maintain the queue that was already in place, the company says it is willing to move some titles around, depending on urgency. Seemingly, this would include DLC packs for existing titles that have already released expansions on other platforms.

"If there are concerns, we are willing to consider adjusting the release date of your content on this schedule," says Osorno. "Adjustments will be made on a case by case basis."

The launch of the PlayStation Store is one of the final steps to bringing the PlayStation Network back to full operation. Sony has said many times that it expected the network to be fully operational before the end of May.

Osorno's note does not detail what plans, if any, Sony has to assist developers who were impacted by the outage.

In some cases, that impact has been substantial. Capcom corporate officer and SVP Christian Svensson, for instance, has previously estimated the company's lost revenue from the outage as being in the "hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars."

Other developers have remained more supportive of Sony, but have made public appeals to the company to assist them with marketing their titles once the Store goes back online so that they might recoup any losses.

Sony, though, is actually in something of a power position -- especially with smaller developers. Despite the security crisis, the company remains one of the most powerful players in the video game industry, so few, if any, small shops are going to make a lot of noise complaining about the way they feel they have been treated. While some could jump to Microsoft's Xbox Live platform, they're unlikely to do so immediately.

For consumers, the relaunch of the PlayStation Store should get them one step closer to being able to claim the contents of their "Welcome Back" package. As detailed on Sony's U.S. PlayStation Blog, PlayStation 3 owners with existing PSN accounts will be able to download two free games from a pool that includes Dead Nation, Infamous, LittleBigPlanet, Super Stardust HD and Wipeout HD.

Sony has said that those (and other) freebies would be made available once services are fully restored.

Sony's statement implies that developers can contact them if they want to release their games earlier. I guess TellTale could try and get the game out three days earlier.

I did not see Back To the Future till last year. When I did, the second movie was playing and I was watching before dinner, then I stopped and watched all three movies that night. I like Michael J. Fox in that black outfit in the past. If I could live in any decade in the past, I would live in the 80's, but I would have all of the technology of today with me and all of the things I have now. But I would have a secret place to keep it so only I and people from the 20's can see it. You know how in the movies, spies and secret agents and all of them have a secret headquarters. That would be what it would be. And my computer would be able to do all of the stuff in the 20's. And I could type this message.

It was never 'pushed back'. While Episodes One through Four all specified release months, Episode Five never mentioned a release month and was just labelled 'Finale'. To be honest, we should count ourselves lucky that it's releasing in June; it could have been released in November.

Yea!!! At least PC buyers get to have episode 4 right now. PSN owners can only do the first 2 episodes!!! PC owners should consider themselves blessed! It is not TellTale's fault for the hack! Telltale is working hard to get episode 5 and other games for us! It is almost June anyway! 1-5 weeks will not kill you! At least we know the latest they can publish the 5th episode is the last day of June. I hope they do the beginning, but they only said finale, then June.

yeah i've played eps 3-4 on the pc i gave up on the ps store.. but that means that either sony did send the press release and decided to change it, or this was never the release... i'm just waiting on episode 5 of bttf LOL

I really want a BTTF game that lets you actually USE the Delorean. Like type in a certain date and year Marty learns. And you have a mini game where you have to reach 88mph. You have to avoid speed bumps, dogs on the road etc.

That would be AWESOME!

I mean ffs they can nail down the monthly release schedule for a Sam and Max season but for some reason doing the same for BTTF eludes them?

By the simply fact that there are a large number of people taken by surprise with the June release shows that the poster you are oh so quick to post as evidence to their lack of wrongdoing has either failed in communicating the release months or was designed to do so incorrectly in the first place. Hell, the release date for the final episode shouldn't have been left ambiguous in the first place. There should have been a hard deadline for it in place before the season even started.

It'll just affect my decision when considering to buy into the season of other series. Sam and Max weren't based on a liscenced movie. Sam and Max didn't need to have the director consulted to make sure the plot was plausible. Sam and Max didn't have Claudia Wells and Christopher Lloyd.

The way I see it, they didn't specify the fifth episode's release date because they needed some wiggle room. What happens if the voice actors had to re-do some lines? What happens if a re-write was needed?

Unlike Sam and Max, Back to the Future needed to account for the movies and try to make everyone satisfied. I know quite a few people who bought the game solely due to their love of the movies. Back to the Future needed to give off a good impression to new gamers and please old gamers.

Those release months were given before the release of the first episode. Let's say the Finale was set for May but was not completed on time. Take into account how many people would be upset; the forums would be imploding with angry comments asking where their game was. That one's a little challenging but if you're looking for guidance: While rescuing Artie from the three gangsters, you must retrieve the code from behind the bar. Play the game normally until you see the cutscene with Kid leaving through the secret passage. Afterwards, approach the roulette table and bet on 7, 23, & 30 to open the passageway.

I agree, they really pushed hard to make the April cut-off for episode 4 and it showed. They didn't release it until the second to last day of the month (IIRC), which probably means they were really rushed to make the deadline, and that episode was the glitchiest episode of the whole series, for me at least. I cast my vote for quality over quantity, and that means give them more time to polish the game before it gets released.

It's actually the second time he uses it. It's after you have gotten Officer Parker all ready to shut the club down. That time Kid leaves is when you want to do it.

Did you make sure to look at the numbers back in the past when you were trying to save Artie from Kid's goons? If not then that's why. You have to make it a point to highlight the numbers and click so that he mentions the numbers saying something to the effect of these look like a combination to a safe. Also make sure to scroll down the list because it doesn't all fit on the screen.

That would suck to not know. My grandfather was in his 90's with a full head of hair. It was thinned from younger but he had no bald spots and no spots that had to combed over. Hell my dad died of cancer and most lose their hair with radiation yet his grew thicker and actually regained some of it's color. He went from white to blackish/white hair with the blackest eyebrows. It was really weird.

Anyway we're getting off track. Is it June yet? Can I start F5ing yet? lol

yeah really ... my friend in chicago had the nerve to tell me that sony deserved to get hacked for not allowing him to mod any of his ps(insert number) consoles.. talkin about if he bought it he should be able to mod it and i was like dude, you honestly are gonna justify them getting hacked out like that just cause you can't mod your console without consequences?? i haven't talked to him since... just didn't think it was right... don't get me wrong i have nothing against anyone that mods their console, but after you do that console is basically on it's own... if it breaks down or such, that's it..lol

I dont disagree with you that being rude in the sense of replying with insults or vulgar language is probably not appropriate. As you said, pretty much any public message board will have its vets and it's rookies who do not know where everything is.

But it's general message board etiquette (not just this message board but pretty much ANY message board on the web) to look at the sticky topics first before creating a new topic as your question/thoughts could be contained in a sticky.

Pretend you are a logical message board poster who is visiting this particular board for the first time and attempting to find out when the next episode will be released. Should the first thing you do not be to look at the titles of the sticky threads and notice one is titled 'release dates' which would likely contain the answer to the question you seek? And in this forum in particular, the key release dates are on the first post in that topic.

Like I said, no need to be vulgar with people who do this but since anyone who creates a topic about release dates is essentially breaking general forum etiquette, I think if people keep it clean, they should be able to have a little fun with them!

I haven't been to this forum since 08/13/2008 according to this site and that is about the time SBCG4AP. I started looking at the steam forums to find out the release date because I decided to wait for about a month from the last ep. I had no idea that they announced that it was delayed until June. From the steam forum I came here looking for more info and after looking though this thread this comment stood out.

Every forum has this issue. People just don't understand Netiquette and they need to learn. Unfortunately some people learn the hard way.

It has nothing to do with how often a person signs in. It has to do with understanding the nature of forum and the ability to research and not just read. I know I never read this entire thread but I did go through a few pages to get up to speed.

This is the first time i ever came online to complain about something, seriously.
And, in the end, this isnt a big deal for its only a game. but if there is one thing i cant stand, its when a company lies to me. when i bought back to the future the video game in january, i was told that episode five would be available in may. Well, its June and no game. And i knew this was gonna happen. I should have known from the beginning when you didnt give an exact date, but you did say MAY, That is for sure.

Now i have a feeling this has something to do with the fact that you released this on playstation. so once again, pc gamers get fucked over. basically, you(telltale games) advertised in january that back to the future episode five was to be available to pc gamers in may. its june and no episode five.

Look, i dont really know much about this company, seems pretty new. i know you guys came from lucasarts. this is the only game i bought from telltale. i had plans to buy more, i like this idea of episodic games. but when you expect to get an episode by a certain time and you dont get it, well that takes the fun out of it and in the end, thats what games are all about.

so in the end, and im sure you guys dont care since you already got my money, but i will NEVER purchase anything from telltale games again. why would i pay money for false advertising, which is what this was.

it was bad enough you started releasing the episodes on the very last day of each month, but now you dont even release it on the month you advertised.

i wonder if there is any legal action one could take for false advertising.

like i said, in the end, its just a game, but i paid money and you lied. simple as that.
