I remember when it released, and it was discussed that the finale never had a month attached to it. Telltale never said that the finale would be released in May. You must be confused or something.

Yes, official TTG information never said that. Also, that it might need an extra month for the last episode is nothing BTTF-exclusive. The month wasn't announced for the third season of Sam & Max as well. There is nothing unusual or unexpected here.

The attached shot is from the first trailer - December 2010, as official as it gets. Any other source besides the official one might have interpreted the release schedule and misinformed you. Get your anger back at them if you really need to vent.

We never gave a month for Episode 5 at all until we announced it was coming in June a few weeks ago. Every piece of media about the game that we put out always pegged Episode 5 with a "finale" tag.

Any information like release dates and release schedules at game media outlets like IGN, Gamespot, 1UP tend to be best guesses as the dates are usually put in when a game product is created in their database and rarely, if ever, updated.

Look if those game sites post misinformation then that is no more telltales fault than the PSN hack. There was no firm release date for episode 5 until just after 4 was released and they quickly announced 'June"


Anyhow back to the topic at hand!

Last month was kind of nice in the sense that we didnt have the constant "could this be the day?" speculation that we had EVERY eligible day in April and nearly every eligible day in March. We could come on the forum and relax. I mean look how many posts this thread got in May vs March or April. And most of the posts were either fun jabs or newbies or PS3/mac owners.

Now I guess we need to start the 'when's it coming' speculation so I'll start:
Episode 1 was a tuesday, 2 was a wednesday, 3 was a monday, and 4 was a friday. So I'll take a stab and say following this pattern, episode 5 will be coming on a thursday. That leaves June 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, and *gasp* June 30th as possible guesses.

I'd rather not speculate. But I assume that the episode is almost finished, but there's one specific thing that will happen at a fixed date in June for which TTG has to wait before they can finish the episode. So, this could be any day.

Back to the Future episodes 3 and 4 are currently slated for June 15th in the EU, subject to change. As you can imagine, after being gone for some time we have a lot of commitments with a lot of different publishers that we need to keep, so please be patient if the content you’ve been waiting for isn’t in this first publish.

if i'm not mistaken at least i'm not when it came to thq's dlc for smackdown vs raw 2011 last year, EU got the dlc 3 days after north america did so that's probably the rule of thumb everywhere some type of window between NA and overseas countries concerning release dates

Well how would you have felt if there were no sequels and therefore part I was the one and only movie? Would you consider that to be a cliffhanger?

There's plenty of films out there that essentially end with the assumption that there's further adventures to come. Some get sequels some don't, but that's different than a cliffhanger. Pretty much any superhero film does this. The ending of part II was a cliffhanger (which is fine because as we all know they were 100% certain at the time that another sequel was coming). Part III was an ending more similar to the first film. It was an ending such that it wasn't a cliffhanger but implied there are more adventures to come which left the door open for another sequel (which was in fairly hot talks through the 90's and which you could consider is this game).

This probably goes more in the predictions thread but my money is on the final shot being the delorean, time train, or another time vehicle coming towards the screen about to time travel.


Let's face it folks, doc brown built 2 time machines already, he even built one in a reality where he didn't become a scientist, he built one using 1800s technology. Doc will never retire from time traveling so unless they kill him off (which is guaranteed not to happen), there will ALWAYS be the possibility of another sequel.

It's a business strategy. Make cliff hanger. Fans start foaming at the mouth, clamoring for more. Make them wait. Then release it. The clamoring creates internet hype and more and more people will buy it.

Bob Gale's comment at the end is likely meaning that we will be impressed by the ending, but that is left open to interpretation. The way I see it...so long as this series is INCREDIBLY successful, we could have serialized BTTF games for a long time.

Maybe it's because when I was a kid, I thought Doc was a real loner and I was sad that he didn't have a wife/girlfriend. As you might have guessed, I was very concerned with the well-being my favorite characters during my younger years.

My favourite is part II but possibly for the same reasons people dont like part II (it was the last one I saw, my dad told me it sucked). It is the only one that deals with the future and really compliments the first film well; biff is still hitting on Lorraine 60 years later, Griff bullies Marty Jr. the same way their grandparents did. We got to revisit the first film again (only sequel ever to do so), the alternate timeline; basically it dealt with the concept of time travel more than the other 2 which some people liked some didn't.

Part III is the weakest in the trilogy but is also different in its own sense; western fans like it the best. Probably fans of doc like it the best because his character comes fill circle (notice how in part I he starts out like a lunatic and gets more normal with each sequel). Marty on the other hand takes a back seat, something some people like and some dont. I like the film and am not in the camp wishing doc never got struck by lightning so part II would have ended it but here are reasons why i think it is the weakest of the trilogy;
-one of the neat things to the first 2 films was that we got to see how characters progressed; we see Marty and Doc at 2 stages of their lives and Biff, Lorraine, and George in 3 different stages. Aside from 1955 doc again at the beginning, there is none of this
-it follows too similar of a plot to the first film but the plot isnt as menacing; in the first film marty needs to get his parents to fall in love AND get back to the future by the delorean reaching the wire at the precise moment. In part III marty and doc merely need to avoid Buford and the end plan to get back is not as difficult
-it doesn't really deal with time travel and the effects of changing the timeline. Basically only doc's death and 'eastwood ravine' are the only noticable changes.
-there isn't a real family connection here as there were in the first 2 films seeing characters families (parents, grandparents, children). We see their distant ancestors whom they likely never met
-the first film broke a lot of ground in the sense of a character meeting his parents as teenagers. The second broke ground with the whole 'part I revisited'. Part III didn't really do things that had not be done to this point yet


But alas I'm glad it exists. For one thing it made the first 2 films more popular and we have a trilogy instead of a movie and sequel. We also got a happy ending (lets face it, doc going back to the future at the end of part II and destroying the time machine is not happy especially when we see Marty is destined to be a loser). Doc ends up happy, Martys character comes full circle and avoids being a loser and we are left with an open ending.

Rest of the time they release during office hours.

It's a very visually pleasing game. The environments are beautifully designed and the transitions between realms/worlds/areas/whatever you want to call it are seamless. I particularly like the small details such as Alice's dress changing to match the current area she's in (ie Mad Hatter themed dress for the Mad Hatter area) and the animated cutscenes.

The game still retains its difficulty from its predecessor and proves to be quite the challenge at some points. In addition, the game is stock full of collectibles so you'll always have something to do; I'm on my second run-through already, trying to gather everything.

I also like what they did with Alice's personality. While she still has her dry and cynical personality, you can also see how she's matured from the last game. On the same note, you can see how Wonderland's changed since the first as well. While the first was more 'guilt-driven' on Alice's side, this one focuses more on the memories themselves which, in my opinion, proves to be a stronger focal point for the plot.

Controls are standard and relatively easy to master. The aiming is a little bit finicky at times but doesn't take away the pleasure of the game. New abilities such as floating and dodging (by turning into a swarm of butterflies) are a refreshing aspect of the game.

Bottom line: From one Alice fan to another, I highly recommend it.

I have and I hate to say it, but I agree with the reviews. As a Duke fan, I was rather disappointed with the game and I found it to be quite the let down.

When I was listing Alice, Duke and BTTF in my previous comment, I was referring to the initial excitement of the releases, not necessarily the quality of the games themselves. Alice was fantastic. Duke? Not so much.

It's a very visually pleasing game. The environments are beautifully designed and the transitions between realms/worlds/areas/whatever you want to call it are seamless. I particularly like the small details such as Alice's dress changing to match the current area she's in (ie Mad Hatter themed dress for the Mad Hatter area) and the animated cutscenes.

The game still retains its difficulty from its predecessor and proves to be quite the challenge at some points. In addition, the game is stock full of collectibles so you'll always have something to do; I'm on my second run-through already, trying to gather everything.

I also like what they did with Alice's personality. While she still has her dry and cynical personality, you can also see how she's matured from the last game. On the same note, you can see how Wonderland's changed since the first as well. While the first was more 'guilt-driven' on Alice's side, this one focuses more on the memories themselves which, in my opinion, proves to be a stronger focal point for the plot.

Controls are standard and relatively easy to master. The aiming is a little bit finicky at times but doesn't take away the pleasure of the game. New abilities such as floating and dodging (by turning into a swarm of butterflies) are a refreshing aspect of the game.

Bottom line: From one Alice fan to another, I highly recommend it.

From what I understand(I have too many games on my want-list right now, so Alice really isn't a priority), when you buy a NEW copy of Alice Madness Returns, you get a free downloadable copy of the first Alice.

ShadowKnight is correct; When you purchase the second, you get a copy of the first as well. Even if you still didn't want to play the first, the second is extremely easy to follow and while it references some elements from the first, it can work as a stand alone game. Of course, I should mention that it's rated M for a reason but everyone knows about that, don't they?

I also recommend the first to you. Granted, the graphics are a little dated since it was released ten years ago but the game is quite impressive.

i got all the trophies on ep 1-4 and then decided to trade my ps3 in for store credit since back to the future and infamous were really the only 2 ps3 games i really played (aside from a few gameshow games) so i'll just play episode 5 on my pc when it's released... sony has just become more trouble than it's worth...even before the outage they always seemed to be late with some dlc updates...

BTTF the Game episode 5 and 1 or two other games are the games I am looking forward to. I hope they do a season 2! I am also interested in Puzzle Agent 2. I just got the first one earlier this month, and I want to know what happens next! I just finished the demo of Portal Still Alive. I do and don't like it. It is strange but interesting. If any of you have done Portal 2, can you tell me if it is worthy to be called a game and tell me how good it is?

If you like Portal, get Portal 2. It builds on the basis of the first game by adding new elements and giving you new puzzles. Plus Valve will be giving us free DLC, which is always a nice thing.

Anyways, I'll probably be playing the 4th episode while this is happening so that when the 5th is available for download, I can play it right away.

I'm playing episode 3 tomorrow, and episode 4 on Wednesday, because I'll be hanging with friends most of the day on Thursday, so I won't get to play til evening anyway. I'll spend less time hitting F5.

For me, I'm playing episode 2. I was tempted to play today but I had to resist because of the fact that I kinda rushed through the first one without reading every text like I usually do when I play these games. I contribute to the fact that this is the second time I've actually played the series and since I know what's going to happen, I tend to rush it. No worries, I've learned my lesson and tomorrow I will play it like I did with the other episodes and take my time.
