I completely agree with the above sentiment. This will probably be my most looked-forward to movie of the year.

Well, I will say... that was NOT what I was expecting from that trailer. I knew *that* movie was coming out this year, but not via that trailer.
Epic trolling, Disney, and well played.

Yaaaaaaay!! :D And it is with 53 of my favorite actors :D
Did anyone but me find this blatantly obvious? Maybe it's because I knew Jason Segel wasn't doing anything else, and that Amy Adams was in the movie... but really, it didn't surprise me at all.

I actually didn't know anything about this movie going in other than that it was coming. With so many trailers being formulaic, your brain goes numb to the content of it because they're so homogeneous. They could have very easily
I honestly did not expect them to treat this property with anything even remotely approaching dignity and respect, but their latest projects(including that recent YouTube Channel) have really restored my faith with the people working on it right now. There was a point not THAT long ago where, if you told me about this project, I would have shrugged and said "eh, maybe" at best. I am now definitely looking forward to it though, making it the second most-anticipated upcoming puppet-related film.

Lame actors. :D
Actually, I'd say it's a safe bet 85% of them will just have the typical Muppet cameos, like Bob Hope and Steve Martin's wonderful bits in The Muppet Movie. 'What are you doing here?' 'A very brief cameo.' 'Me... too...'
Being the massive geek I am, I recently rewatched the Star Wars and Roger Moore episodes and they're still as amazing as when I watched them on VHS as a little person.

:D This is awesome! I'm definitely going to be seeing that one. Its about time the muppets did some more stuff on the big screen. I doubt it'll be as epic as Muppet Treasure Island or the Muppet Christmas Carol, but so far it's looking like it'll be a great watch none-the-less.

Wait, wait, as far as I have understood, "Green with envy" is only a fake title and this movie will of course be properly named "The Muppets". No chance for people being surprised while actually watching the movie. ;)

Awww. They should keep the "Green with Envy" title and confuse people!
But, I guess I can understand from a marketing perspective that you'd want people to know what they're going to see so as to not alienate potential customers.

Meh. I haven't seen any Muppets movies, so I guess I only care for the live-action stars. I adore Amy Adams, and the rest of the cast is brilliant.

This suprises me. Isn't it you who loves Tim Curry? He's one of the leads in Muppet Treasure Island. Which happens to be my favourite Muppet film. :)

Sooo... same boat as Fawful here, never seen a Muppet movie (well I did see "Meet the Feebles" a long long time ago, but I believe that's something else entirely). I'm willing to be educated though! How many Muppet movies are there, and which one should I start with?
EDIT: Never mind, I'll try "Muppet Treasure Island" 'cause I like the original story.

The best thing to do, I think, is to watch the original "The Muppet Movie". Aside from that, there are a lot of bad Muppet-based movies. Though I do enjoy Muppet Treasure Island and Muppet Christmas Carol, others feel they are the beginning of the end for the franchise. Pretty much everyone that loves The Muppets loves The Muppet Movie, though.
The Muppet Show is a better place to go after you've exhausted those three films, as it's that sketch comedy in which the Mupets first really showed their stuff and in which their personalities were first developed, as much as Muppets "develop", heh.

Yeah, The Muppet Movie is definitely worth watching (for everyone), and I would recommend watching the Muppet Christmas Carol late in the year when you are in a Christmassy mood. Muppet Treasure Island is fun too but I generally wouldn't start with that one because you sort of need to familiarize yourself a bit with the "standard" Muppets before you can really appreciate the characters-in-character.
"The Great Muppet Caper" and "The Muppets Take Manhattan" I think are both decent movies, but I haven't seen either in a long time and I don't think they're really must-see stuff. "Muppets From Space" is pretty blaaah. I definitely wouldn't bother.

The music is being written primarily by Bret McKenzie (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bret_McKenzie), who is a pretty funny guy so it should be pretty interesting

Bret McKenzie's great! But Paul should at least have one song in there, I'd say he's still interested seeing he did A Muppets Christmas: Letters to Santa.

Is kermit sad that he's being overshadowed?
Very unlikely.
Kermit's character was always pretty humble. He sees an ad opening for frogs wanting to be rich and famous, and comments that he's actually quite happy where he is in a swamp. The main consideration he has, then, is that he could make millions of people happy(even though he'd "really miss this swamp, but..."). If he was sad, blame Disney for messing with his characterization. ;)
