Telltale doesn't do midnight releases for a very simple reason: Nobody's in the office then. :p
It'll probably be released sometime during Telltale's office hours (I'm assuming they're the usual hours, 9 AM to 5 PM, PST of course). Though for what it's worth, Steam has the game unlocking at "approximately" midnight.

thats not fair that steam has a release time earlier than the publishers themselfs telltale this needs to be addressed! especially if people have bought the pre-order version it isnt fair on your customers? can a telltale employee confirm or deny this is happening?

How awful that you'll have to wait several hours longer.
Also, note that Steam says "approximately." They're estimating. For all we know it could unlock the same time as the Telltale Store version.

First, to answer the question: No.
No midnight release and no fixed time of day for the release.
In most games, TTG was faster to release episodes than Steam was. If it's different this time, I'm OK with it. But I think it isn't yet set in stone.

Looks like Steam has revised their estimate for when it'll unlock. It now says "approximately 1 day and 5 hours." If that's correct, it'd come out at 2 PM EST (11 AM PST).
That's still just a guess which could very well be wrong, though.

lol, I was trying to figure out how to download it, came to the forums and see that nobody knows when it's releasing. I was going to go by steam, but people are saying even that's not being accurate. I'm trying to follow that chart in some of the forums, I live in GA, so that chart has 12-8 pm written on it. I'm a little lost, wouldn't tell tale be closed by then, even if they were on PST time (only a 3 hour difference, if I'm not mistaken).

True. Have the Telltale Store version and Steam version of a game ever been released at the same time, in fact?
I still think it's worth sharing for those who pre-ordered on Steam, though. Which includes me.
Speaking of other versions...what about the 360? Since it has a disc release, couldn't someone go into Gamestop or something and maybe get the game before its official PC release? Then again, retailers don't always have games right at launch unless it's something with a lot of hype.

Ok, i'm here waiting for the game to come out, and i'm having troubles with my controller... i hope someone can help me.
I have the official Microsoft x360 Wireless Controller Gaming Receiver, bought with a white wireless controller that worked perfectly fine on my computer.
Now the problem is i forgot the pad at a friend's house, so i'm trying to connect my Black X360 controllers to my PC.
**** it doesn't work!
I press the little button on the pad to start the wireless search, and the circle lights start to turn on one after another.
Then i press the button on the receiver, and something weird happens on the controller: ALL the lights start to blink, and the pad doesn't connect to the PC.
On the receiver, the light is on.
Is that normal?
Don't tell me i can't use my X360 controller on my computer... :(
Dino lovers help me please!!
You need to hold the button on the receiver down for a few seconds first. Once the light starts to flash, you can press the sync button on the gamepad to sync it up.

I'd blame Valve for that, not Telltale. The "jumping release time" is from Steam's estimate (emphasis on that word right there) on when it will unlock.
Although I think Steam's estimate just got changed to be earlier. It says "in about 3 hours," which means 5 PM EST. It was saying it'd come at 6 before.

Well they might have to make the setup files.. remember when they rushed bttf the game episode 5 it was all in german only, and wrong activation type, because if you look at the setups detail it says it was made right when they released it the time and date. So that means they have to do Mac and PC and also change the main page.

I'd blame Valve for that, not Telltale. The "jumping release time" is from Steam's estimate (emphasis on that word right there) on when it will unlock.
Although I think Steam's estimate just got changed to be earlier. It says "in about 3 hours," which means 5 PM EST. It was saying it'd come at 6 before.
really 5 p.m est that means i gotta wait longer, ive been waiting patentally for the past few hours dont think i can hold it more:eek::eek::eek::eek:

There. Now that your expectations are sufficiently lowered, you'll be pleasantly surprised when the game releases earlier.

But what if it releases later than that?

This isn't like steam where they get the game fully completed and they just have to flip a switch. These guys are actually finding bugs still and are aiming for a superior product. Imagine the griping they would have gotten if they had released and then everyone is saying, "but I can't finish the game! Telltale sucks, I'm never buying from you again. et. all"
It'd be pretty bad if they were still working on the game on release day, but as it's already been pointed out the game went gold a week ago. There really is no excuse for this it's just telltale being telltale. As usual I'll point out they could at least communicate with us about what's going on; it's annoying that we find out that it's probably been delayed indirectly through Steam. Saying all this I'm not really suprised tbh.

Why would they communicate anything? They made it, they decide when its good to go.
Even if they said "we've decided to postpone for another 6 months"... woop-dee-doo. As long as their working on it, i dont care.
They said it will be released today, then it will be released today.
There's 24 hours in a day people.
You can wait.

It's downloading now. 2.6 gigs. I wish they gave us a download manager friendly link. I was able to get it, but being able to copy and paste it easily would be nice. Doesn't matter, because I'll be playing it in an hour.

Wait, how? How are you downloading it?
It says the game isnt out for another hour for me.
EDIT: Never mind. You must mean the PSN version. I mean Steam ;P
