...because unwinding with a drink at the end of a long hard day's one of lifes greatest simple pleasures. Plus getting drunk's fun!
What do you drink when putting your feet up or painting the town?
I myself favour:
http://www.barkeeper.co.uk/uploads/powers2.jpg
Powers Gold Label: A great drink that needs no mixer, one for pot still and grain whiskey fans. Best enjoyed by the fire in your favourite easy-chair.
http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_BEA6vn397kM/ShN8JpXGlkI/AAAAAAAAAA8/XqyccsQAXnc/s320/bushmillsOrig.jpg
Bushmills Original: A good whiskey you can drink all night long, smooth and full of flavour. Think Southern Comfort but not as sweet or fruity.

When it comes to lagers I think the Dutch are the best. In Holland you can get some fantastic blonde beers, but I don't live in Holland, ergo I like Grolsch. It's quite a strong brew, as largers go it's not too bitter either. Very thick and distinctive, one of the best domestic lagers available. Fantastic drink for sharing out at a party.

I just usually stick to lagers with this being my favourite:

though sometimes if the mood hits me (and there is a good offer on it) I go for this:

I don't drink beer too often, but I prefer either the local Kokanee or various European green bottle beers. Hard liquor, I'm a Captain guy.

I've always been a cider and ale girl.

and
Pumpkin Ale

have always been my favorites. Hard liqueur? I actually LIKE the taste of Long Islands.

I never quite managed to get the hang of beer. Default going-out drink is white wine. Probably my favourite is a young (1-2 yrs) New Zealand sauvignon blanc like Cloudy Bay, though I'm not terribly choosy about it.

For a celebration or occasional "why the hell not", Bollinger (but never at a bar, markups are ridiculous on champagne). Veuve Clicquot Rose is also very nice, particularly with strawberries. Don't be fooled by the girly pinkness - men love this stuff too.

For cocktails, I tend to favour something short and alcoholic like a Caipirinha. Avoid most things carbonated / overly sweet, all things creamy, and anything with coconut rum. :P

Cheers mate.
I've been a big fan of Guinness and Kilkenny for some years. However recently this brand caught my eye (mainly because of the design on the label, let's be honest) at a local grocery store.

It seemed just "pretty good" at the first impression, but after er... sampling it a bunch more, it has quickly become my new favourite. So delicious... I may have to go out and buy some right now!

I always drank Vodka, with lemonade or orange juice (apart from a brief dabble with moonshine)

But the last few years this is my new favourite...

New Deal Gin No. 3. It's local, so there's like, no other picture I could find in a quick Google image search. Unlike other gins, where they mix other stuff into it, New Deal uses ONLY juniper. Despite this, it is REALLY good.

New Deal Gin No. 3.
Lemme stop you right there, you can't drink gin untill you're a middle-aged woman. Preferably a crying middle-aged woman wobbling about the place.
While this thread's being bumped I should emntion that if I get out tonight i'm gonna try use root beer as a mixer I think. I see no reason why this should fail! :)

Or if you're my dad! XD
I personally don't drink much, but I do like a bit of cider, vodka and coke, or just a plain ol' alcopop.
