So, instead of creating yet another thread for each and every new bundle, let's just make one unified thread about bundles. Humble Indie Bundle. Indie Royale Bundle. Indie Gala Bundle. Bundle of Bundles with Bundling Bundles Bundle With The Obligatory Word Indie Indie Bundle. Doesn't matter!

New @IndieGala goodies coming soon! The new bonuses ( a lot, believe! ) will also be available for everyone who previously beated average!

Well, this is the first time an indie bundle has prompted Steam to tell me I don't have enough hard drive space. Luckily, I had almost 4 GB sitting in my Recycle Bin.

I'm not surprised. I've said before, the more frequently these bundles come out, the less enthusiastic people are going to be. Also people who feel like they've been spending too much money on these bundles already aren't likely to feel guilty about paying less. I can't say for sure that they'd make more money by doing them less often, since I don't know what their overheads are, but it seems like they're going to drive the concept into the ground at this rate.

Little Big Bunch charity bundle

So far there's nothing known about this bundle.

Actually, confirmed games:

Frozen Synapse
Explodemon (Not on Steam at this time.)
Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee (The hell? How's that "indie"?)
Unrevealed title from Mommy’s Best Games (Company has no games on Steam besides the new Serious Sam 2D shooter, which seems unlikely as a bundle game.)
Unrevealed title from New Star Games (Likely "Super Laser Racer".)

Also, it releases on the 14th.

Yes, but that's the specifics. It's not the general information, how it works and stuff. Once it releases that information will not go under the description, however, they will go under "Current bundle". That's why I didn't supply that information.

The Indie Six Pack one gave you a discount if you shared it on Facebook, if I remember correctly, and had a fixed price. I could probably find the price if I searched my email. It had Steam codes for a few of the games also.

rumored contents of the next HIB: (http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/12/13/alan-wake-pc-and-new-humble-bundle-teased-in-steam-registry-files/)
The registry entry suggests that a new bundle may include Super Meat Boy, BIT.TRIP.RUNNER, Jamestown, Nightsky and Shank as a starting lineup, with Gratuitous Space Battles and Cave Story+ to be added after the bundle has kicked off. If accurate, that’s a fantastic collection.

WTH. I just bought Night Sky & CaveStory+. Thank God I didn't get Bit Trip & Jamestown...

The page is down now, but there was a bit of text under Double D that very directly said "Steamworks".

My guess is there aren't Steam keys for the other games, though. I know for a fact that Get Games, the store that is running this bundle, distributes Frozen Synapse without Steam keys normally through their own storefront, so I wouldn't be surprised if that's how it worked here.

I have the Little Big Bunch.

Only Serious Sam has a Steamworks key.

Explodemon and Munch's Oddysee are entirely DRM-free.

Frozen Synapse and New Star Soccer have activation codes. I know from experience that Frozen Synapse's is for registering a multiplayer account, which is reasonable because their infrastructure is heavily based on their own servers, which provides certain intrinsic benefits(stat tracking, no need to save games, stored copies of every match you've ever played, etc).

Hey, not everybody bought the third bundle. I did (or was gifted it before I could, anyway), but I wouldn't have the second or Frozenbyte bundles if they hadn't been included in later bundles.

Anyway, the addition of the third bundle includes something the original third bundle didn't have: the soundtracks to all of the third bundle games.

To be honest, I haven't been keeping up with too many of the bundles, because I already have games that I don't play, and am not that interested in filling my Steam Library further with games which I don't care about. If you didn't get the Voxatron bundle, I *urge* you to get Dredmor today. It is one of the best indie games released this year, easily, and its expansion(74 cents on its own, even less bundled with the core game) is HUGE content-wise and well worth the money.

Also: You OWN Crayon Physics.

Alcoremortis
12/20/2011, 07:04 pm
It really is. If you love gaming (and other nerdy) in-jokes, you'll love this game. Everything is a reference to something.

And now, I'm off to get the expansion.

der_ketzer

Both are really good games.

Chyron8472

Also: You OWN Crayon Physics.

Yes, but if I recall, it has been offered in 3 or 4 bundles. And having played it, I can confirm that I don't care about it and would rather it was not taking up space in my Steam Library.

Now you'll say "But you don't have to add them to Steam." No, I don't. On the one hand, If I don't add any games to Steam, I'll forget what I have. On the other hand, if I add them all beforehand I'll have games I don't care about filling up space there.

What I should really do is try a game before I add it.

EDIT: I could say similar about The Binding of Isaac. I know various people on here like it, but 2D Zelda it is not. I think IGN (http://pc.ign.com/articles/119/1199423p1.html) defined it's aesthetic as "cutesy grossness," and one might call that original, but having played the game myself, I can say that I don't particularly care for it. Now, when I say "I could say similar," what I mean is that (now that I recall), I bought the Voxatron bundle with particular interest in getting The Binding of Isaac as people on here claim to like it and I wanted to have a first-hand opinion. Unlike Crayon Physics (which I feel is a waste of time for anyone over the age of 7), I am glad I played Isaac so that I can talk about it, but again I'd rather it wasn't taking up room in my Steam Library.

...or perhaps I should just have a category called Misc., Other or Trash or something similar, and put all the Steam games I don't play in it. Maybe that would work.

EDIT AGAIN: Having my Humble keys resent to my email while writing this post, I can elaborate on having said "I haven't been keeping up with too many of the bundles" by including that the indie bundles I have bought are Humble #3 (which comes with #2), Humble Voxatron (for Isaac), Humble Frozen Synapse (as a gift, as yet unredeemed; I already have a Steam copy of FS), and the Xmas Bundle (which I got specifically for Blackwell).

der_ketzer
12/21/2011, 06:23 am
Stop insulting my games of the year. ;)
Seriously. The Binding Of Isaac is my game of the year without any doubt.
Crayon Physics was a great game. The deluxe version is a lot easier but still enjoyable if you set yourself some goals.

I looked at my Voxatron Bundle, and didn't see Dredmore on it. According to wiki, it was in the Humble Introversion Bundle and I didn't get that. So, maybe.

EDIT: Yes, okay. Dredmore Complete (ie. Dredmore w/ DLC) is currently on Steam for $1.87. So yes I'll get it, lol.

I'd agree, since AGS is still pretty hard to use!
(And there's still a lot of work involved in the other areas of game design. In this case especially, since the engine is probably he least labour intensive element of making an adventure game!)

Then a lot of gamemakers are "cheating". Basically everyone that licenses an engine like Source or UT3.

(And there's still a lot of work involved in the other areas of game design. Just because you use someone else's engine doesn't make you a cheater. It just shortens development a little bit while you focus on making everything else. Nothing wrong with that.

GaryCXJk
12/22/2011, 11:57 am
Actually, even though Adventure Game Studio can be very complex, and must be complex, seeing as you can't simply create something like the Blackwell series, you can create an easy adventure game without too much problems.

Also, there's a huge difference between Game Maker and the Source or Unreal Engine. The latter two require actual source code alterations.

While I see what they're doing and think it's a nice idea, none of the games included really interest me enough to part with monies. There's an absolute ton of free games made with AGS available from the official site (http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/games.php), and they can keep you entertained for months.

Again - it's a nice idea, and I'm sure they'll get more than a fair few sales from people willing to give to a good cause, but money's a little tight for me right now and I have more than enough games to live on.

Plus, I've no time to play them, what with my new-found second occupation that doesn't pay (actually, that's not true - I've earned exactly one cent from people watching my videos. Woo!)

Wow, this is a really weak offering compared to what I thought could hit with the hints.

Roboblitz and Greed Corp are good games, but that's it, and Roboblitz's main selling point early on was that it was an XBLA game that fit 3D graphics into the old XBLA size limit. It's a cute physics puzzler but it's not super special. Greed Corp is a bit better, it's fun and there are some really novel mechanics to it, but I'm not sure these two games can carry this bundle.

By the way, anyone interested in Fortix 2 because it is "reverse tower defense", that idea is being done a LOT better by a game called Infested Planet which should get more attention. It's not getting much attention because it's a $15 beta, but it really is a brilliant game.

I was gifted Bunch of Heroes during the winter Steam sale, and I've played a fair bit of it. It's one of those games that's more fun than it is good. It's got flaws and not a lot of content, but it's wacky premise makes for some nice shallow action. It's better multi-player, though YMMV.

"a 'scorching' single and multiplayer arcade-strategy game" - PC & Max and comes with a steam code

(If you already paid for it. Load your key, then increase your order. It will have a seperate one for the 1st one. Just put 0 on the top one and 5 in the bottom one, then you can have the 1st for $5)

(I've extended my one to $20 overall now. Man, they need to stop adding stuff or I'll have no dough at all! XD)

EDIT: I'm going to be honest here and say that with the addition of the first bundle there are 3 great albums worth having from this bundle alone!
(Super Meat Boy, PPPPPP, and Shatter. But you also have Mighty Switch Force, Machinarium, Minecraft and Mighty Milk Way/Mighty Flip Champs osts as well!)

EDIT 2: There is also a Mashup album of the various indie games in this bundle.
(Which is such an awesome idea! :D)

EDIT 3:
OH. MY. GOD!!!

Some of this new stuff that has been added is pretty damn amazing! :D

This weekend, prepare for the Humble Mojam Bundle. (http://www.indiegamemag.com/humble-bundle-mojam-hits-this-weekend-vote-on-mojangs-new-game/) Mojang will be livestreaming making a small, simple game over a 60 hour period. Humble Bundle will be selling it and the money will go to charity and whatnot. It's kind of a neat idea I guess. "Game Jam"-style events usually produce interesting experimental projects, though there are usually more people involved making more stuff. I usually like game jams, so I guess I'm in, but I wonder if people are going to come in expecting something else, or if this will be as interesting as a larger game jam event. I'm not entirely sure that a lot of people going in will know what a game jam is or what to expect out of them.

The Be Mine should be up within the next 24-48 hours, apparently.

If I didn't really want Sideways: New York, I would have completely given up on this one. The level of incompetence they've shown in handling this is staggering. It's like they learned absolutely nothing from other bundles having exactly the same problem. Indie Bundles are always going to be popular, especially when you have so much great stuff. I just can't believe how poorly this one's been handled.

Poll is up for the Mojam thing. (http://www.mojang.com/2012/02/15/humble-bundle-mojam/)

To be honest, I'm a bit disappointed RTS gets a lot of votes, mostly because Mojang only has 60 hours. It would be very hard to make an engaging RTS in just 60 hours.

You're forgetting the highest/lowest combo deal. As of right now, it would be an RTS mixed with shoot 'em up elements. I kind of hope Shoot 'Em Up gets more votes so we can get an RTS beat 'em up instead, which sounds FAR more interesting.

60 hours isn't enough to create much of ANYTHING super engaging. The point of a game jam is to make something interesting in a constrained way so you can think about design differently, not really to produce "good" games.

Neat! I really like the RTS Beat 'Em Up mix best honestly, and that was really close to happening when I checked. I'm hoping the mix is an interesting one whatever it ends up being, since there are a ton of mixes that it could end up as and not all of them are particularly interesting concepts.

Oxeye Games Studio and Wolfire join the Mojam! (http://blog.humblebundle.com/post/17794402045/oxeye-games-studio-and-wolfire-join-the-mojam)

"Wolfire is going to be working around the same genre and theme as Mojang — a real-time strategy shoot ‘em up with a steampunk, ancient Egypt theme! And Oxeye announced that they’re taking on the second place categories from Mojang’s original poll, which were also favored on comment threads and message boards Internet-wide — they’re making a dungeon crawler beat ‘em up set in a post-apocalyptic World War II."

The games are coming along in the sense that all game jam games do. You're not going to get something extremely amazing, just "interesting". The fact that they're taking money for it is, frankly, pretty weird for a game jam, but whatever.

The games have some really cool art in them, and they have great concepts. The art guys have some really solid sprite work put into these and that's definitely something.

Darth Marsden

i never played them because i am doing this on first impressionThen you're a moron.

Towns is a city building and management game mixed with an RPG that draws inspiration from titles spanning Dungeon Keeper, Dwarf Fortress and Majesty.

3079 is a futuristic, open-world action first-person role playing game, and an alleged lovechild of Minecraft and Fallout.

Wyv and Keep: the Temple of the Lost Idol is a lusciously pixelated 2D co-op puzzle platformer dubbed as a more fiendish version of Blizzard's classic The Lost Vikings.

Of the three, only one could be considered a rip-off of Minecraft, and it's clearly more like Borderlands than anything else. Do some research before instantly dismissing three interesting looking games.

EDIT2:17 seconds in and WYV and Keep to see a that there is ZERO similarities to Minecraft. Its an F-ing 2d platformer from what I see.

1.number 3 and the box of town made it look like it by its block style, and i then thought it was a mix of farmville and minecraft, and i was doing impressions on boxes
2.i did not mean to say that all are similar, just most of them

The Be Mine bundle has now unlocked either PAM or the aquarium screensaver (the two goal #3 bonuses) for everyone who purchased before or purchases now. (If you read the comments apparently this hasn't happened for everyone yet, but I assume it will.)

Also worth keeping an eye on: the Bundle in a Box (http://www.kyttarogames.com/?p=134).

For now, let us only say that the games will indeed be (strongly) thematically linked as promised and that there will actually be seven of them. Yes, seven. One of them will belong to a genre that has never before been included in any sort of gaming (indie or not) bundle and another one will be launched exclusively through the bundle itself, as we do believe in directly supporting and promoting talented indie developers.

But I have no hope for it. It looks like D.I.P.R.I.P.. That one's a Source mod no one plays. I have no hopes that a game you have to buy with the same style has more players (even though D.I.P.R.I.P. is awesome!)

Indie Royale's St. Patrick's Day Bundle (http://www.indieroyale.com/) is up for semi-blind pre-order:

The Bundle is headlined by an explosive FPS with a future-leaning setting, available on Windows as a Steam key, Desura key and DRM-free download. Next up the flagpole is a jaunty Windows and Mac adventure game, available on Steam, DRM-free, and on Desura, arrr. Also featured - a brainy Steam-enabled Windows and Mac title 'dispensing' RTS action. Rounding out the bundle is an Indie Royale exclusive Windows/Mac debut (DRM-free and Desura) for an acclaimed satirical platformer, plus a bonus DRM-free Windows RPG overhead shooter from the same creator.

Those who pre-order the St. Patrick's Day Bundle receive a retro bonus: the NES-inspired 15-track album O.S.T from Daniel Capo, available in FLAC and MP3 file formats. Those who pay over the minimum while the bundle is live will also receive the bonus.
