Secret of Monkey Island Boulder Problem

I used the boulder to sink the ship first, so the boulder is no longer there and I now know I need it to hit a tree on the beach or something and it didn't show back up. Am I perma-stuck?

Nope. Just climb up to the top and pick up another rock from the... pile of rocks :)

Are you sure, that there aren´t any stones you can use? I think there was a pile of stones, so you have endless shots! :-?
