First of all, great game! Other than the crackly audio in the voice overs the game was pretty much perfect. Although I thought the music was great, I really love the opening theme from the TV show. Any chance on incorporating it in some way in future episodes?
Nope, sorry, that music is owned by AMC and we're not partnered up with them at all. Jared Emerson-Johnson did a fantastic job on our game's score, though.

That's too bad. Oh well, tell him he did a great job with what we got. Thanks for the quick reply!

How about a release of Mr. Emerson-Johnson's The Walking Dead music? ;)
I noticed that his work on Bone was put up for free, but I would gladly shell out some money for a CD or digital download of The Walking Dead score.
We may release a soundtrack after Episode 5 comes out, but it's too early to give any concrete information on that at this point.

Hey everyone does anyone know where I can find the ingame music online??
The in game music isn't available online. Maybe we should consider selling or releasing a downloadable soundtrack or something...

I think it would be a great idea to add on if you guys do decide to release a special edition after the series.
Keep up the amazing work.

I would buy both for a fair price (Digital Delivery version, so it appears under "your stuff" section like the JP soundtrack)! ;)

May I just say that I am very interested in the possibility of an official soundtrack release? It would be easiest accessed by me through Steam, so please consider adding a Walking Dead The Game OST DLC in the future; I love this music. Every single song. Beautiful. Thank you so much for making this game.

Should consider? It should have been already planned. ;)

A CD version actually cost a lot more to produce, an online downloadable version would actually be easier and less of a financial worry since they don't have to worry about packaging/publication costs. Just saiyan ;)

Also, you should definitely release the tracks at some point.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hTDGtnAnY7w (this guy releases all the soundtracks from the game in his channel)
Can we get guitar tabs for songs like Chucks Spirit healing, the best for you (when teaching Clem to shoot the gun) and hopefully tabs get released for Alela Diane's take us back track at the very end of the series. (there is on one awful site and the song it to rare to be known)

God I can't wait for the OST!
I want to use so much of this music at my weekend D&D table; aside from, you know, putting it all on my iPhone and just LISTENING to it.
I have to admit, for mood-music, this actually beats my Mass Effect 1/2/3 compilation...'cause, I don't know if this makes sense, but the music itself FEELS real.

I would love to see the soundtrack go on sale. The music is so atmospheric, and it really addded to the experience.
Registered to say this. The soundtrack is brilliant, would love to see it be made available.

Agreed, all the tracks are awesome. I don't know what's taking them so long to release the ost, the music is already done and people are asking for it. Don't you want to please your fans and earn a few more dollars in the process Telltale :D?

I also agree that the OST needs to be released.

IMO best track in the game hands down. Even if season two winds up having mostly new music I strongly feel that Armed With Death needs to be added in to the climax of one of the episodes.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ePFxuu9lik
Alive Inside is another one that needs to make a return. I personally feel those two songs are as iconic to the game as the main theme from the TV series is to that.

As awesome as Armed with Death is, I think it should die with Lee. It's basically the Alive Inside motif made awesomified.
Alive Inside is basically Clementine + Lee's motif in its most common form. A variation of that motif should play if Clem's in Season 2. However, I don't think it should have that same "hopeful" feeling that Alive Inside has (whenever it plays G Major, the song feels so happy - "Goodbye" takes away that G Major and makes it a B Minor, which is why the finale sounds so depressing even though it's the "same" melody).

No love for Aiming Protection? It was even remixed for the VGAs. I can't provide links since im on an IPhone and I'm also lazy.
The in game music was fantastic. Better than the show's, imho.

This song gets me every time. That goes for most of the music, though. The ending scene's too...not just the credits.

I registered here just to post in this thread )
I join the community in eager anticipation of an official release of the TWD score!
In terms of its immersion and emotional gravitas the game owes so much to Jared Emerson-Johnson's beautiful work.
Personally, I can't get enough of the Tension track, so deliciously moody:

Also, I really hope they make it available in lossless (CD quality).

Over the past few hours I have been ripping the soundtrack of "The Walking Dead" from the game files and adding id3 tags/album art to it. Note: Take Us Back is actually a remix made by telltale games, not the official version.

Is it really a remix? It's really hard to tell.
EDIT: Do you mind if i'm gonna be just a little bit nitpicky about this? First off, what happened to the ending of Armed with Death? It's THERE, the Telltale Music Extractor (The newest version) extracts it with the full ending to it, the fade out just doesn't really close down such an epic song for me.
Second, i'm quite disappointed that you didn't add in the other two parts of "Gone" :( Truly, i loved that piece of music, it's my favorite, but it definitely felt incomplete without the more intense parts of the song.
Sorry if i sound like a dick here, i really do, but while this can be a placeholder for some people, i'd rather just wait for the OST, listen to the music from the game files or use my youtube playlist. Because i'm not sure if this is unfinished or it's intended to stay this way but this pack doesn't offer a whole lot, besides all the emotional themes (Which i give kudos to you for them and their nice quality)
But eh, i think the things i said is something from my view of doing things, so i may not understand the concept behind this.

You still give no money to Telltale for making the soundtrack. You still "steal" from them. Do you want to do that? IF they dont get money for their work they lose money and eventually will have to shut down.
Now, that probably wont happen just cause you get the soundtrack. But you have not payed for it. Does not really matter if it's on youtube or not cause now THAT guy who uploaded it is breaking the rules. He has no right to do that cause the soundtrack is not HIS.
Again, you might as well put up a download link for the whole game. Give them no money for that either!

No need to get all rustled. If Telltale cares so much about making money off of the soundtrack, they will simply edit the OP. This thread has been open for days, and no action has been taken.

Maybe they are busy? It's still illegal and right now you are "keeping it illegal until the cops show up" kinda mindset.
Be nice to them, remove it, buy it if you want it, or listen to youtube cause someone else has fucked up.

Isn't it odd that mods and admins would be absent for one entire day, that, or just not pay attention to a thread like this? Come on guys, don't be hasty. Mods and Admins are chosen specifically, and one thing they need to always do, is at least one of them should show up each day. But if it's bugging you, just report it and we'll see how things go.
And you know, if i fucked up, why would Telltale, or even the forum let me keep the music on for 7 months straight without any complains about it?
Just give it time dude, you don't know anything for certain.

For one thing, their highest priority is probably not to stop you while they are working on the game. Sooner or later if it's up on youtube like that it's gonna be put down if you can't show you have permission from Telltale to have it up on youtube.
Do the OP have the permission to share the music? I dont think he has. Now a friend of mine downloaded this and said the music was horrible quality and that might be the reason but i dont know, and yes this will be reported. Sharing this music would be the same as sharing the actual game and hopefully many here would not wanna get this good game for free if they could. They deserve the money. This i piracy, and i'm sure it's not allowed on this forum. Mostly from THEIR OWN products.
I again would report it if i only knew how.

I'm not a member of Telltale staff, so don't take this as an official statement, but I think linking to unofficial versions of the soundtrack should be OK, as long as the soundtrack isn't officially available from Telltale.
So, I'm keeping this topic up provisionally (and merging it with another discussion about the soundtrack), until if or when the soundtrack is officially released.

can't imagine they would just let someone share it on the internet, on the other hand they ain't EA so...
If i had theoretically downloaded the soundtrack, I would still buy it once it comes out, especially if it's on a cd, because this game is so amazing and it only costed me 15 bucks, because there were so many sales for it, which I think is sad. Such a masterpiece costs 15-20 bucks, while the latest activision games cost 50-70 bucks, though they don't put a fifth of the effort you put in your games in theirs.
I'll be damned if I don't buy the soundtrack once it's officialy out, because you guys deserve it, and I would love to just... have it.

No, that's a completely different manner since you're talking about something that Telltale is officially planning on selling. As of right now, it hasn't been decided about whether Telltale will sell the soundtrack.
Telltale is a very open company with their fans, and the Telltale staff and we mods are pretty lenient with fan productions. Telltale has a pretty open policy on YouTube Let's Plays and Walkthroughs for example. This is a similar case since it doesn't interfere with anything Telltale has for sale, and is just the fans showing their appreciation for Telltale's work.
