View Full Version : What about Mark?

As much as i like the WD game until now, i´m a bit sad about how neglected Mark got.
He is the only member of the group who comes during the break, we hardly get much feedback about his background and in the end he is only there to get shot at, maimed and partially eaten... poor bastard.

I mean, i kinda liked the guy and found it already strange that nobody should have taken at least a look at him, how he is holding up, after Mama patched him up from the arrow wound.. i mean come on - the guy was shot, and all the people just stumble around the farm, quarrel around and then go to eat, without ANYONE at least say hi to him or take just a look at the poor sod?

I know, it was necessary for the whole plot, but i thought it beeing the weakest part of the storytelling up to now... and you guys let him even bump the stairs down, with no feet, just to wail a few last words... why do you hate him that much? :(

i was sad to see him go, Mark grew on me fast but when he walked into that house my gut told me i wouldnt be seeing him again (as you know we did wind up seeing him again....but not the way i wanted to)

They all had their reasons for not going in the farmhouse. It seemed realistic to me.

Katja was delivering the calf and the kids were watching her. Kenny and Lee were preoccupied with trying to figure out what was going on in the barn. Lilly is annoyed that Mark is even there as he's one more mouth to feed and her father Larry agrees with her, so those two were obviously not worried about Mark's well-being.

I really liked Mark! I was worried about him too! I would have never left his side if I could. I didn't trust Andy and Danny from the moment I saw them. Mostly because of their story. A wise man taught me that when something seems too good to be true, it usually is.

Nope, this was the school kid, they were against... Mark was a member of the community (who even contributed to their food etc). Leaving him totally alone, with some strangers just seems very wrong to me.

That's rather false since that is the new home they live in still in the comics...

I didn't trust them either, but I think that's because I've learned from the comic, anytime something nice happens SOMETHING/SOMEONE has to come fuck it up

Not CONSTANT threats.

Maybe not constant, but they sure as hell aren't leaving them alone either :P

But in all honesty the comics have started to become boring to me as of late :/

I ment that I should be as distrustful as Rick if I want to survive.

From the moment Danny opened his mouth to speak I just knew: These guys are gonna try to eat us.

And I was laughing the whole time Brenda was backing up the stairs yelling: Now Mark get to snack on you bitch!

Im gonna miss Mark.

Well technically, throughout the Dairy section you can keep trying to check up on him. But the lady keeps making excuses as to why you can't right now. So it's not necessarily nobody cared - it's just how you play and your choices, I suppose. :)

Well.
Mark wasnt alone. He was being looked after by Brenda.
Every time someone invite you to their home, do you think they are going to eat you or your friends?

I really don't get how they even MET Mark. He wasn't in Ep1 and Ep1 ended with the power cut out and them living at the motel. What exactly was Marks Story (maybe I haven't paid attention).

mark was in the army base which the group found via all the noise from the end of ep1

upon investigating the noise and scavenging for supplies they found him and helped him escape the base, he brought food and ammo/guns with him..

other than that he sounded like soldier..

Gosh guys think!

The Mark character is clearly the big winner on the pre order bonus :)

they said the winner would be made in to a character who would die in the series and come back as a zombie! :)

read up on it yourselves! :)

And if I could I would have saved Mark, I really liked him a lot!, much more than the new kid/guy(Ben Paul) :(

I did try to check on him. I tried to get in the house but the old lady wouldnt let me in. I liked him eventhough he had a big mouth but its like in the comics, some characters are going to come and some are going to go. Attachments dont last too long. All I really have in the game is Clementine. Anyone else I cant expect to keep around.

I'm aware that the student was the one who she was very adament about not wanting in the group. But she also didn't like having Mark there. She said to him "The only reason you're here is because you had food." And then she said the food ran out. That implied she still viewed Mark as an outsider.

Oh Mark, you tried to connect with us, you talked to us, but you ended up as food. I would have liked to see him around for a while longer, but let's face it.

He helped make one of the most chilling moments we have seen so far.

I felt really bad about Mark. Its kinda sad he joined the group during the break, so we barely know anything about his back story or how the group even met him. Where was this air force base? How did he survive? Where were all the other soldiers?

When he went into the house with Brenda I had a feeling he was doomed one way or another. Wish there had been a way to save him. But at least as a walker he got some payback.

Mark story was really sad. He appears at the episode and goes into one problem after another until a very brutal and sad end (the final touch with him dragging himself and asking for help was the worst).

Strange that even without a big preparation for this (his story wasn’t the central theme of the episode and he was neglected sometimes for one reason or another), his end had this impact.

Well, at least he had some kind of revenge.

dont put "MY" lee into this

because i started wondering where mark was immediately. you'd think they'd update you with his condition but once he went into the house; everyone started pretending like nothing happened.

i already figured they were cannibals by that part though

i also didn't appreciate the treatment he received. they say mark was accepted because he brought all the food. meanwhile, he's the one starving the most. i didn't like that either, made sure to feed him.

Aye, I found Lily's attitude to be pathetic. If Mark had acted the way she was telling us to then he wouldn't have shared the food and wouldn't then have been starving. She's happy to take but never give it seems to me. Oh, and Carley/Doug die because of her and her father, since it's only when you set the alarm off getting his medicine that the zombies attack, wrong person dies there I think...
