Cant pass episode 2 because of Brenda

I have searched the internet for a solution to Brenda shooting the main character in the face over and over and havent found any. I know that a lot of people out there arent experiencing the problem and they think it is a lack of skill. Please do not reply if you are going to say its user error because I have been playing videogames long enough to know when Im making an error. Has telltale resolved or even addressed this issue? Im using an xbox360 btw. Basically I get to to the hostage part and as Im creeping up on Brenda teh main character keeps walking and never stops. NO dialogue option appears. It shouldnt this difficult. After spending several hours I have utterly lost all hope. Does anyone know anything about this issue?

Perhaps try with another controller? (If you haven't already.) If the character doesn't stop walking, the analog stick may be stuck or the signal to the Xbox might be delayed. Maybe try fresh batteries as well. Sorry if this doesn't help :/
