PC- game freezes when i click to start

any ideas on how to beat this problem? i get the title screen but once i click the 'click here to continue' prompt the game just comes to a stand still minus some background music. it wont even let me ctrl,alt,delete my way out i have to do a hard reset. this happened to me after i completed ep1 but i dont remember how i managed to even download ep 2 and play that.

forgot to mention im speaking of The Walking Dead
