I think we are making a mistake thinking that Katjaa shot herself. Nobody saw her do it. She could have been murdered. Maybe, by the creepy guy on the radio who has been following them around... I wouldn't be surprised to learn more information about her death in the next couple of episodes.

Also the man on the radio would have had to follow the train for who knows how long in something just as fast they would have noticed.

I had a thought that Kenny killed Katjaa but it would make no sense at all, and there is the option to just let Katjaa go into the woods alone with Duck and Kenny stays with you and she still kills herself.

Don't you think that when Katjaa was holding Duck she was bitten by a mosquito right in the temple. She threw Duck against the tree and scratched it with her fingers but just couldn't get it to stop itching. So she picked up her gun and put it to her temple and just when she was about to scratch she was shot by a hidden sniper somewhere in the bush! To Kenny it seemed like she shot herself and that is what he tells Lee when he arrives. But this was no ordinary hidden sniper somwhere in the bush... It was La--it was Mark whom rose from the dead to seek his revenge on the group... As a zombie sniper! You know he had military experience and the part of his brain that stored the knowledge of firing a rifle and advanced survival tactics didn't die out. Other peoples plays are different. If Lee says he'll kill Duck, Ken and Katjaa go off together with him to say goodbye and she still shoots herself.
