I moved this to the spoiler forum and gave it a less revealing title.

The pitiful wheezing was the worst part. I was glad when it stopped.

I was sorry to see him go.

At the time, I was in too much shock about Carley and then Lilly's departure to be really affected by it.

Happened too soon.

I liked Duck, even when he was annoying, he kinda reminded me of my youngest nephew (the kid NEVER stops talking). I was glad it played out like it did, because as I watched Katjaa walk away with him into the wood, I had an awful feeling he was going to turn in her arms, which was probably why Katjaa's suicide was so unexpected. I'm glad they went with sad, instead of shocking.

This.

Also, he got super cute in the third episode with his detective play. He will be missed.

I was more moved by his mother's suffering and by Clementine losing her friend. The hardest thing about Duck's death was reassuring Katjaa that I would put Duck out of his misery, and explaining to Clem what I was about to do.

I took care of Duck, but I never cared for him. I cared more about what he meant for the group, and to certain members in it.

Him acting like a detective and saying he was robin was very entertaining and gave some fun, and at the gate when he wants a high five just makes me laugh.

At least he died knowing i was super awesome for giving him the high five. :D

So depressing. Grabbed by zombies twice, held at gunpoint, eating people, and then zombified. The writers took that kid to the woodshed.

i find it strange for everyone who decided to shoot him themselves. its kenny's kid let him do it. dont you know the old saying 'i brought you into this world i can take you out' anyway TT did a good job making me give a crap about him. i remember joking after ep1 saying how i wish the zombies would get him. the tough part wasnt seeing him die it was watching his parents get destroyed at the fact hes going die.

Talking to Kat and asking her about Clem and Duck turning his head at the sound of his name to look up at Lee... I wanted to hug him.

He was my ward... At least Batman put him out of his misery :) Although I didn't like him until ep. 3 I never wished he would truly die. Just as I don't want Kenny to die. I want him gone just like I wanted Duck gone.

I think he was in the story to say 'Yes, everyone is at risk in TWD"

As a father, Duck being bitten and dying was easily the worst, most heart-wrenching part of the episode. Heck... of the series, so far.

It affected me. I felt very sad for him, although considering how many times he was close to death already, it felt like the kid was doomed. Nevertheless, I dont think he deserved his fate and was pretty annoyed with the Duck haters who were cheering his death.

Episode 1 made me hate Duck. Episode 2 made me apathetic towards him. Episode 3 made me love him, and then they took him way. :C

I was completely distraught over his death, and the fact that neither of his parents even told him they loved him or anything. Katjaa may have, I suppose, but then she wrecked his last few minutes of life by committing suicide in front of him.
Poor Duck, man.

I never understood the Duck hate. He's what, nine? Ten? Nothing he has ever done has been malicious or deserving of hate IMO. He's just a sweet but empty-headed little boy who made a bad mistake. I know people hated him because of what happened to Shawn but again, it wasnt like he did it on purpose.

Rock114

I didn't hate him because of what happened to Shawn. I knew Shawn would bite it. He's just so annoying! That's what I don't like! I prefer silence, not a constant yammering toddler who doesn't even know that I'd rather be a walker than listen to him for five more seconds! Maybe he's just got too much energy for my taste. Guess I'd make a bad parent...

But, as with most others, episode 3 made me like him. He was actually way less annoying and genuinely funny. Plus he helped us... didn't see that one coming...

I really miss him and Kat though. The entire train sequence all the way to finishing him off...heartbreaking.

This game reveals some strange ass things about people. How can anyone not sympathize with a child, but yet pity a cold blooded killer? The family dynamic definitely left with Katjaa and Duck.

It's interesting that all the folks talking about how they wanted Duck to die as he was a liability to the group never thought through the consequences of that happening. Katjaa kills herself out of grief and Kenny's a complete shell of himself now, and nobody here knows what he is going to do next.

Just shows we should be careful what we wish for.

People rarely think past the surface. Consider all the people who are convinced that the guy Clem is talking to is Glenn simply because he also had a walkie talkie or all the people who were convinced that the woman in the woods was Clem's mother in spite of mounds of evidence to the contrary.

I think at Ducks death was the most Pain-inducing thing so far just watching the life slowly drain out of a young kid who about 3 or so hours ago was playing Batman and Robin.

Also i let kenny shoot him because not too long before i had seen the film "Of Mice and Men" and it reminded me of a scene (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Cq8V0HzJZY) where The old Farmhand Candy is being pressured into putting his dog down and instead lets someone else do it (Similar to Lee pressuring Kenny into dealing with duck and then Lee saying he will do the deed) but afterwards he regrets not being the one to do it.

I don't think TT did take inspiration from that movie but it was quite similar.

I never understood the hate towards Duck. As great as Clementine is I actually thought that Duck was more representative of small kids these days than her.I may be unlucky but the small kids I know or have seen are more likely to resemble Duck than Clem.
Clem almost comes across as a fantasy child to me,well behaved, funny, balanced(so far),intelligent and helpful.

As a farmer's son I thought that Shawn and Duck's parents were the dumb ones in allowing a ten your old kid, unsupervised, to play on a tractor without removing the keys and making sure there was no way he could start the thing?! Do most players desire the old rule that children should be seen and not heard.
As shocking Doug/Carley and Katjaa's deaths were, Duck's slow death and his parents anguish over what to do with him was harrowing and is the closest a video game has got me to shed a tear.Well done Telltale.

My wife was quite amused while I was playing this episode. I kept popping in to talk to her...

"Carley just got shot, my group is falling apart. This sucks"

*5 minutes later*

"Oh man, now Ducks been bit, I can't believe this. Thats really horrible."

*30 minutes later*

"Oh for the love of God! Katjaa's just shot herself, I've just shot Duck and Kenny is a wreck! I think I need a stiff drink."

That depends if it's Lee or Kenny pulling the trigger...

and if I remember correctly it's Lenny and George.I enjoyed that book when I studied it in school, I should read it again.

I was joking around with my friend a week or so before episode 3 released. I claimed I wanted Duck to die, and he called me on advocating the murder of a child, I said I didn't care because he was annoying, then I blamed the death of Shawn on him and said we'd all end up like that if Duck were allowed to live.

Episode 3 was released.

I wept during the train scene. Guess I can just eat my words now...

The last thing he got to see before leaving this world was his mother killing herself. That tore me up.

Well the way i was putting it was candy regretted not being the one to put his dog out of its misery and letting someone else do it (I.e: Lee killing Duck so Kenny doesn't have to be the one do it), The scene forshadowed the part when George would have to kill Lennie.

So if in Ep.5 Clem gets bitten and Lee puts has to put her out of her misery then it would be more similar to the Lennie & George.
Or something like that.

I will never understand the hatred people had for Duck at all. I guess people forget all children are annoying to a certain point. Duck just reminded me of most of the kids I have encountered. He was filled with life and his death was almost heartbreaking.

I suppose I have read the books long enough to have not been shocked by his death... I know nobody is safe.. heck Lee could die and we could be forced to play as Clem ... you never know with TWD.

My thoughts exactly. Even Clementine had her mischievous moments. I think it just became a running joke. Everybody hates Duck.

even though i didn't hate him, a lot people by default hate immortal children in games and after episode 1 he did seem immortal, i mean that shawn kid could have just died later, it just made duck seem like he could never die :( but now we know he can he lost his immortal annoying-ness
