Would you Wait?

Sorry about another choices thread in advance

So two of the biggest complaints I've seen with the game are the length between the episodes (which I have no problem with since I have plenty to occupy myself with) and the fact that it is so linear (which I kind of agree with since I currently have no predisposition to play a second time once I finish unlike Heavy Rain which I played through twice with albeit a somewhat linear storyline but a widely different path and ending, but I still find TWD a quality game for 20 dollars).

Anyway that brings me to a question I want to pose (sorry if its been asked before) but would you be fine with Telltale taking like 4, 5 even 6 months in between episode 4 and 5 to map out say 3 or 4 different scenarios based on a sum of your actions in the past episodes. Say one scenario you join up with Kenny and the other survivors on his boat, on another you take off with Clem separate from the group, one you leave Clem with her parents etc. My point is would you wait an extended amount of time in order for your choices that you've made throughout the game having a huge evident affect or would that be too long and would you prefer to wrap up Lee's story with self-contained choices in the episode and move onto season 2?

I would definitely wait 6 months. But I do not really have a problem with the linear story. I always play each episode twice or trice.

If I know the game can get better then yeah, sure. I mean if they wanted to go that route in the first place and had the time and resources I doubt they'd be dissuaded in the first place.

I will say because everyone seems to think the game is so linear we are only 3/5 through the actual game so are choices our not coming back to haunt us yet. Wait till the 5th episode.

And I would gladly wait if it meant they could produce an episode without glitches as Episode 3 was full of glitches. Waiting about them doing different endings? That will probably happen anyway and since the save carries over to Season 2 we might have to wait for a while for Episode 5.

Given the reaction prior to the release of episode 3, I think it's safe to say that the majority of players would NOT be happy waiting. If they were to state up front and take more time with Season 2 or even delay the release of a second season until it was complete, that would be entirely different. However, to further extend the waiting between episodes in this season... I don't see it going over well.

I have no problem with it being somewhat linear. I didnt expect as much as other people seem to and the story and characters are engaging enough to keep me more than interested. Ive played every chapter at least three times and still enjoy each one.

I have absolutely no problem with a well-told linear story, so no I wouldn't want that. Besides, I'm happy with the game as it is. I don't care that my choices don't have a huge effect on the world of the game, because they do have a huge effect on how I feel as I play it. I haven't gotten that from many other games.

You took the words right off my keyboard. This is exactly how I see it.

We've already been waiting a lot longer than initially advertised, people are already getting refund-happy, a longer wait would be disastrous to telltales reputation.

This would be something that would be much better done if it was being thought of from the very beginning of development, at this point it in development it would likely feel very shoehorned into their original story ideas and may even outright conflict with whatever it is they're doing for the ending (which may very well include multiple endings based on our choices anyway).

As it has been said they need to finish what they started.

But if it was really going to be a case of having multiple story line branches and the like then I would be fine with waiting for the game. I would rather them not to episode release for either case.

Not at all, six months between two episodes is definitely unbearable.

I would rather they spent two years making this game before even announcing season 1. This gives them time to develop an entire season and then actually release, in polished format, every 30 days.
The branching choices I feel is moot because of the price of the game, its just not logical for them to develop 2/3 complete stories for $25. Take the game for what it is rather than beating myself up for what it could have been.

In two years The Walking Dead might lose steam and interest. I can understand them wanting to strike while the iron is hot.

I'd be willing to wait if this was the announcement from the beginning. Right now I feel sort of stuck, I'm not that happy with TTG's presentation. I say stuck because whether I like the game or not I'm on the hook for the rest of the season. They could have done a lot better in terms of communicating release dates. Not even gonna touch the playability issue.

If I were to pay for a product from them again it would be based on how they communicated with the community.
