As said in another thread, that is definitely a "cinematic trailer," which was created by the art dept going nuts without any programming/engine/hardware constraints. The real game will look much closer (identical to, even) the screenshots.

And yeah, the trailer does look awesome :)

My mind has been blown. Flint Paper, a mysterious Mariachi, an upgradable DeSoto, a wide variety of new locations (likely designed with no reference material), and the Maimtron 9000 going berserk? It's almost too much for one guy to bear. Thanks, Telltale, for nearly causing my brain to shut down (but in a good way).

(On a side note, there should be a Warp Drive upgrade for the DeSoto with a description like "I'm not sure what this is, but it must be important.")

I was about to post the bit about Flint beating up Chuckles.

I like to think it's Chuckles (given the fact that he moved his hands, he's either alive, or a zombie, which would be pretty cool now that I think about it), and that Flint's getting revenge on our behalf for all the crap he put us through in episodes 3 and 4 (because getting hit by a ballistic presidential monument isn't enough sometimes.)

One is of the Skinbodies car, the other is of Sybil's office. Chances are he got so freaked out in the last season, he considers everyone in the neighborhood a threat and/or that everyone he knows on the level that he knows Sam & Max on is out to get him, if not Sam & Max themselves.

Here's hoping we see Sam put his hand in his pockets in the actual gameplay videos like he did in the trailer!

Bloody brilliant! Between the alley rats and Flint Paper with a knife (?) sticking out of his back, we're really starting to get that darkish grimy feel that people have been wanting. It's also nice to see Sam in trigger-happy mode. Not to mention the fact that the trailer is much more dynamic than anything we've seen so far.
I never doubted that season two was going to be brilliant, but now I don't just know it, I feel it. Bring it on! :D

Luv it, luv it, luhuv it ! The new Trailer is absolutely amazing ! Flint Paper once again proves to be indestructible by beating the Sh*t out of Chuckles while having a dagger lodged in his back. Sybil and Abe are still a thing(good to see he stopped Hyperventilating). Both Jimmy and Bosco are up to their old tricks again. Realy nice how the Old President tried to get his head back.

Judging by the Desoto, Max lost the election to the other guy. Only thing I couldn't place is the guy in the Shadows with the Sombrero and the guitar. Who might that be ?

Nobody's graphic options go up that high ;) There's a big difference between what a computer can render in real-time and what a computer can painstakingly render over an extended period of time. also, i'm pretty glad that flint paper will make an appearance. on the other hand i hope he will not be involved to much, since from what i've seen so far he really is just the guy next door beating up people, not a main character. if he will be part of a puzzle, it should be something like tricking some guy you need some item from to wander into flints office and then getting it after flint dealt with him.

no infrared is a type of light which isn't inside the visible frequencies (just outside the frequencies of visible light in fact), it's just an awesome red light used to create atmosphere (or just look cool)

Inside jokes? I mean yeah, there are references to the previous season that could spoil some aspects of it for newcomers, but I don't think anyone would be lost in watching the trailer. It's not like a disembodied Abe Lincoln head would be any more out of place in the Sam & Max universe if it didn't have a backstory.

Just a thought - there seems to be a lot of inside jokes in the trailer. Is it going to create the same feeling of excitement in newcomers as it does in the current fans?

I was wondering if not showing important things like the actual gameplay was a mistake, but presumably some marketing team out there knows much more about this kind of thing than I do. Maybe it's more important just to raise awareness with an impressive trailer, then allow people to look into it further and discover what kind of game it is for themselves.

Yeah, it might just be with the room being darker, so what precious little hair he has anyway is less visible.

Also, I noticed Bosco walks about behind the counter after Sam and Max finish talking to him. Nice touch, and it's good to see the promise of characters not being rooted to the spot in action. The already great voice acting seems to have improved all round too.

I probably don't need to have most of these things in spoilers, but it's best to play safe.

Bosco is just as bald as he's always been, but it is very shocking to see him without a big patch of blue elf makeup up there, or a hat, or a wig, covering his bald spot. I think that line of conversation was written because people at the office kept being shocked to see how weird Bosco looked when he was effectively naked without any hastily adorned disguises attached to his face.

Taumel I don't know what "inventory puzzles" means. There will be an inventory, and puzzles involving those items. If by "inventory puzzles" you mean "the ability to combine inventory items," then I can, with 99% certainty, tell you that you will not be able to combine inventory items within your inventory in season two.

Hahaha, great video! I loved the fact that Bosco dies, and also how it turned out that Sybil is dating Sam. Although, the very best thing about it had to be when it showed that Abe was really the villian.

Unrelated to anything and everything... People keep talking about who they do and don't want to see coming back in Season Two... One thing that I think is totally awesome about doing games in "seasons" is that, really, we have a complete year's worth of characters who we can bring back at will, but we're also, at the same time, spending this entire year making batches of new characters for every episode.

What I think is cool about it all, is that once a character's original episode is gone, their time in the spotlight might be over, (... then again it might not, of course) but that doesn't mean they're done with.

For instance, if you look at the street in Season Two, just from what we've shown you guys of 201, it's now totally full of life thanks to all of the characters from Season One. We've got Bosco, Sybil, and Jimmy from before, but now we've also got Stinky, Lincoln, the Bug, and Flint. That's a ton of cast just hanging around in the recurring environments (and adding an increasingly "Classic Sam & Max" flavor to the place), and that's just in episode one!... (And we haven't revealed all the characters in those places yet, even within the first episode!)

As you explore out into new 201-specific environments, you'll meet a bunch of new character as well - as many new characters as you would meet in any new Sam & Max episode... the cast is just becoming giant, and I think that's really awesome, as in my opinion, the more personalities Sam & Max have to bounce off of, the better the game will be.

i was going to bust out the christmas lights a little early this year.... when i noticed that the cost of buying enough lights and the cost of powering a giant max head silhouette on my roof, (big enough to be visble from jetliners and helicopters in the air) with the word "MAX" under it (for the entire holiday season) would cost well over $800 :eek:

also.... getting a picture would be a little problematic, unless it somehow gets on the news ;) as it probably will.... because that many lights is sure to set my roof on fire.... in which case, i would not be eligable to win :rolleyes:
local cops would probably yell at (and fine) me as well....

All returning characters are voiced by the same people as last year. Stinky is voiced by Melissa Hutchison (http://imdb.com/name/nm1563502/).

Hmmm...well at least it says on her resume that she can do Spanish, Southern, Midwest, Irish, French, British accents. I wonder if she will use them (or if those were a primary criteria for casting her).

Jake, is there a sample for her voice that we can hear, I know some voice actors have samples from previous works, although a real in-game sample will be a lot better.

Maybe you guys should just wait until you play the game? :) I haven't got any "samples" or anything other than her actual dialog in the game, and I'm not giving that out early, except in trailers and stuff.

Why does everyone want stuff leaked before the game is released? I'd rather wait til november and enjoy everything then

Yeah it's ridiculous. And on top of that the one time last year that I did leak something early (Sam with his banjo from Situation: Comedy), people didn't seem to understand that it was real.
