How do you free David in episode 2?

You only can free him chooping his leg off. I tried cutting the chain, trying to open the trap... but nothing.

You can't do much more with a bunch of zombies around you. :(

I didn't in my last couple of games. I wait it out, fiddling about with the trap until time runs out. Too bad there isn't an option to blow his brains out to spare him the experience of being eaten alive.

You could just let time run out and just run away and bring Travis instead.

Yeah it sucks, I tried everything to save him but found out we couldnt unless you cut his leg off.

Of course doing that then that causes him to die at your camp and become a zombie due to loosing to much blood.

Travis accidently gets shot by Mark. Travis gets mad that you are just going to leave David behind so he goes to get Marks gun out of desperation to save David, but he accidently gets shot. They bring him back to try to patch him up and the same thing happens, he turns into a zombie and attacks just like how David did.

I think the point with David and Travis was to have someone turn into a zombie w/o getting bitten and for everyone to find out that you turn no matter how you die.

I don't think you can free him without cutting off his leg. I tried everything.

They should have given you the option to mercy kill him, he really doesn't want his leg cut off, and in some cases Lee cannot get him out before needing to leave so a quick shot to the head would give him the least painful death if there was 100% no other way to save him.

How hard can it be to remove a bear trap anyway? Why couldn't I just shoot the damn chain?

Mark commented on how tough those chains were, said they used them at the airforce base, they could not shoot or cut through that chain with anything they had on them, it was chained to a thick tree, and no release hatch was there. Only ways to free him would be to unhook the chain from the tree which probably sounds easier said then done, or cut through the chain some some power tools or something. Even if they did he still has the trap stuck in his leg, would have to take it apart somehow.

There are only 2 options anyway. Chop off his leg or leave him to die. I chopped his leg off.
