No, Christa is not killing herself... She is also pregnant and that trailer was done to take care of possible spoilers AND to get some nice PR what COULD happen in the game later on.

Can we finally put this to rest? Telltale got key moments from the game, like the suicide from episode 1, and swapped characters, locations and scenarios around to avoid spoilers. The trailer is just to show the art style and make the game look cool. End of story.
