Did you just have to not go after the radio?

What happened next and how did he affect your playthrough?

I think it's more of a 'didn't see him die/didn't see a body' so they are saying there's a chance he survived

Because with Ben alive Kenny stays with him and they both die!!!!

Actually it says he was "lost"
As opposed to dead, like the others.
