View Full Version : Game Lilly no longer Comic Lilly?

Has this been confirmed yet? Since the newest book is based on the comic Lilly, and if it is the same as game Lilly then she has lots of plot holes. Is it safe to assume these are two different characters now?

Bump? I heard on another board people were saying she isn't the same anymore, figured people here would know for sure.

Which came out first, the book or game? My guess is the last one is uncannon.

Once Kirkman took a dump on our Lilly with Road to Woodbury, this Lilly became un-canon Lilly.

I'm personally not taking the book as canon, as Kirkman also retcon'd the Governor's name to 'Blake' instead of 'Phillip' like it was in the comic.
On Walking Dead wiki they changed his name to Blake to make a distinct difference from TV Show Governor, and Comic book Governor, but regardless, I'm not taking it as canon. Especially since the book came out after the game.

Well the wiki says they are the same, yet their stories are different... doesn't make sense really imo..

Oh, and this is the same as TV Doug and video game doug. They have similarites, but are still different people.

There is no Doug in the TV show. I assume you mean Glenn and for that I will tell you he is exactly like the comic Glenn, therefore being cannon.

And you need to stop making points that aren't doing anything. You think there can't be more than one guy named Doug in the whole state of Georgia? Obviously unrelated whatsoever.

I have no clue what the hell is going on here...did Kirkman play the game before he penned the novel with Jay? If so, he should have tried to point out some allusions...

Telltale has removed all references to video game Lilly being the same as the Lilly in the comics. So to answer the question, video game Lilly was originally written with the comic book character in mind, but Telltale changed it to be a different Lilly in light of the Road to Woodbury novel.
Since it doesn't mention Lilly's last name in the game, I still see the comics, game and novels to all be canon. These are in fact two different Lillys, who just happened to have the same name and job. It opens the door for Lilly to return in Season 2 of the game, since this isn't the Lilly who wound up in Woodbury after all.

Would have been really interested if Kirkman's "Road to Woodberry" involved Lee's group. Kind of screams out that Kirkman is not a big fan of the game and doesn't want much to do with it...

you said there was no doug and there was. you were wrong. oh, and it's spelled canon not cannon.

Sadly this
Lilly and Larry' last name is never mentioned in game, she could be Lilly Jones,Thomas,Smith or anything else.I really liked the original idea of Lilly's fate being canon to the comic but the new novel and Telltale's removal of any mention of her being connected to the comic is definitive for me.
Since I can't deny Kirkman's canon backstory and personality for Lilly I'd like Telltale to continue/conclude the story of theirs in future seasons.

Wasn't a chapter going to be called off to woodbury or something and they changed it.

Yes,originally there was a trophy called "Woodbury bound" which showed Lilly in the driver seat of a unknown vehicle(probably the RV) but they changed it to "What now" with a patch.
That previous trophy picture makes me wonder if the choice to abandon Lilly was originally an option...

On the plus side, the game could still be considered canon - with TTG removing all traces that "our" Lilly is "his" Lilly, there's no conflict, canon-wise.

Kirkman himself helped and supervised the game story so this must be canon too.
Kirkman, like George Lucas, begins to not to know which stories are part of his world and which not.

He's just being a troll. Doug in the tv show was not the same one in the game. Different people can have the same name, but he's arguing for no reason.
Either way, I don't consider the game Lilly to be the comic one anymore. Not after Kirkman screwed up the canon by not saying anything to Telltale about already having an idea to expand on her backstory or whatever the real story is behind what happened. So basically, my Lilly died sometime that night when I left her on the road at night with no weapons.

NOT true at all. I am a member of The Walking Dead Wiki and if someone makes a change that isn't true, it it pretty much immediately changed within five minutes.

I mean seriously. I make one joke about a walker nose and now people are arguing that it's the same person. Jesus.

Doesn't change the fact that wiki's are subject to editing and human error.
