There’s pedophilia in the comics. Remember the “Give Daddy a Kiss” scene between the Governor and that zombie kid?

And the guy who tried to rape Carl, but comics can get away with darker stuff. I can't see that being added to the game to the degree it was in the comic.

they can't do stuff like that in games... otherwise most countries would ban it.

If you haven't noticed, the sequel is always darker than the succeeding installment.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
Star Wars: EPisode V - The Empire Strikes Back
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

All number 2.

Most likely, it will be, but I hope it never comes across as dark for the sake of being dark where it's not integrated too well into the characters or the situations. One of the my problems with the comics is that a lot of stuff is just thrown in randomly without much context or reason to advance the plot.

I know it's the Walking Dead and that should be expected of it, but I always prefer violence, however dark, to be presented with an explanation that would make relative sense in the given circumstances. The first season did this amazingly well in my opinion. I liked how the villains were all really developed and you can almost still see some shreds of humanity despite their horrendous actions.

I would never want to see a villain like the Governor from the comics. Yes, he's one sick guy, but the actions his character did seemed like they were just thrown in for the sake of making him sick without any good build up or transitional content. He goes about raping and torturing people randomly in the comics and that really messed up his character for me. Oberson himself, who never made an actual appearance (another thing I loved since it made for an interesting development for an antagonist), seemed to be much more developed within the context in the game.

So I think Telltale will make the next one dark, but I hope there is always a good story and explanation that compliments it as well and we don't have a villain like the Governor just thrown in for violence sake. Telltale did great job with the antagonists and I hope they continue to go in that direction.

why do so many of you kids bring up the comic, obviously everyone has not read them, its getting pretty annoying

There is a fine line between darker and fucked up in the head.

Almost everything you suggested is just something a psychopath would want to play in a video game. I like watching youtube commentators and my friends play the game without going to the scale of turning off the console because they get disturbed.

Look at how episode 5 portrayed darkness and downfall.

Because the game is set in the universe of the comic and follows its rules. You don't need to read it to understand the story of the game, but the game is bound by some laws laid down in the comic.

No, Majora's Mask is number 6. :p

And while I'm sure Season 2 will top Season 1 in the shock department somehow, I'd rather they do it in a way that's less...gratuitous.

Because the comic is the source material for the game and is based in the same setting unlike the television show which is in its own. duh.

OH MY GOODNESS, that scene made me gag x.x it was so gross D:

Though more darkness in the game would be great, make it more similar to the real world :o

I meant that you meet characters who have experienced this or you save characters from these horrible things, or you get to murder someone. Rape or pedophilia committed by the player is too far.

I get that< what im saying is im tired of having to dogde all these spoilers constantly, I dont want to know everything in the comic, I would rather see it all in the show combined with the game, see how it can be annoying

Everything is contextual, for ratings/distribution purposes. That said, there are some places we wouldn't go even if we could. For example, I doubt you'll see anything related to say...beastiality in Season 2.

Not going to see anything like rape. Look what happened when the Tomb Raider trailer tried to portray what could be a rape scene. The gaming community is just not ready for that kind of maturity in games. Which speaks volumes of the gaming community.

Perhaps one day games will be able to get away with addressing dark scenarios in the same way movies and books can, alas it won't be any time soon...

Can you imagine the field day Fox News would have if they realized that Season 2 involved child rape?

That said, I would prefer that the topic of rape be avoided, but I wouldn't be too bothered by it assuming that the scene is well done.

Even suggested child rape would send them into a frenzy.

Come to think about it I'm pretty sure TWD game had suggested rape.

not dark enough? it's dark enough, for the love of Pete!! Kirkman gave his blessing to the TTG group, so if it gets any darker, ppl would probably lose interest and move on to the next thing.

As i said earlier all this rape and pedophilia, bestiality, necrophilia and what not would be off screen so fox news won't get raging boners that alert them that it's the right time to stir up hatred of video games and cause a whole mess.

I think season 1 was already pretty dark and made me do things which made me say out loud: "Holy shit!".
Plenty of games out there make you kill thousands and thousands of aliens, soldiers, demons, whatever, but I've never had the same reaction as I had when playing TWD.
They CAN go darker in season 2, but it will not make the game better or worse for me.

Just wondering when does season 2 come out? Anyone know? Thanks

I still have not played episode 4 and 5 of The Telltale walking dead videogame. But I have played episodes 1-3 and loved it. It's better than both the tv show and the comics.

I cannot wait for season 2

Lol Red Dead Redemption has rape scenes and even shows the naked girl being raped. Just saying it has been done.

I on the other hand would hate that being included. It can go darker by forcing the player to make tough morally questionable choices tho. There is a fine line between darker and psychotic. For example I love dark gritty movies and shows, gore and evil are entertaining to watch. But the Human Centipede took it too far and is the worst most disturbing movie I have seen.

Finding a happy medium is where they will go. They have already included murder and cannibalism. So i could see suggested rape, and more wickedness in the other people. And as long as there is a nice peace time to relax and have a moral compass like Clem, the game will have its balance.

yeah its like the difference between saw and hostel, saw was gory but was a really well made horror story, hostel was just pure gore porn

I honestly thought there was going to be implications of pedophilia in episode 5.

When you save Clementine from The Stranger.
I mean, you have no idea what he wants until you get to talk to him.
Even then, when you ask her if he hurt her, she says "Not really", which just sounded a little off.

You'd think her answer would have been a downright "No" if he didn't.

I'm glad they didn't, though.
That would be way too many traumatizing things to happen to her in one day.

Agreed. I read the comics after playing through the game, and honestly I was a little disappointed about how downright juvenile it was at times. The parts with the Governor (& Michonne's revenge) especially so. Really seemed like torture porn for torture porn's sake. WDTG is just so much better than that. Any "darkness" in the first season is there for a good (thematic/plot) reason, and I hope it's the same for season 2 as well. If they just threw in a bunch of gratuitous rape and gore, that would probably turn me off Telltale permanently, and I've bought (and enjoyed!) almost all their games.

I thought the stranger hurt her in the sense that he dragged her by the arm or such, to force her to go where he wanted her to go(such as inside the closet), hence the response.

I suppose all that's possible, but it's up to TellTale how Season 2 will follow/play as.

As for the paedophilia/rape stuff, hopefully TellTale would allow to kill the fuckers or feed them to the walkers. They're not worth keeping alive.

I have said something similar earlier in the thread, kinda funny how people find me to be sick. Anyway i happened to be 14, and this stuff isn't as bad as some of the shit i have seen on the net.

Yea, there's really fucked up shit on the internet's dark corners, which I'd prefer to have not seen it.

And I didn't even specifically searched to find that shit, it just came up.

Last I remember, it was dead corpses mutilated. Damn it, I'll just stick to Dexter and Breaking Bad, thank you.
