This morning I purchased this (http://www.telltalegames.com/store/samandmax-season1-disc) and have recently received an e-mail saying that the product is unavailable.
"Thank you for ordering on Telltale Games. Unfortunately, the product(s) you've ordered is currently out of stock and could not be shipped. The product(s) has been placed on back-order and will be shipped as soon as possible when the stock becomes available."
This would be okay but my bank account has been debited. I've paid for the product but I don't know when I will be receiving it. To compound this issue, shipping to Australia already - according to other forum posts - takes 6+ weeks. Furthermore, nowhere on the product's webpage did it say you were out of stock. Why was I given the ability to purchase something that isn't available?
Can you please give me some idea about when stock might "become available"? Thank you.

Sorry for the surprise. :( I knew we were running low but didn't know they'd gone into backorder or I would have posted a note in the store.
More discs are on their way to the warehouse right now, so it's only going to be a couple of days before yours ships. (International shipments don't go out every day, anyway, so the disc probably won't ship to you any later than it would have if it had been in stock.) Also FYI, the reason you were charged the full amount at checkout is because you paid with PayPal. If you had used a credit card you wouldn't have been charged for the shipping on the disc until it shipped, but there's no way to delay payment that way with PayPal.
While you're waiting, you can access the downloadable versions of the games through your My Telltale (http://www.telltalegames.com/mytelltale) account. Let us know if you're using Vista, so we can get you a Vista-friendly version of Culture Shock (the rest of the downloads are fine on Vista, and the disc is fully Vista compatible).

Hello, I ordered the DVD the other day too and received this email. When I came on here to check I saw this and felt re-assured, however I also noticed a thread relating to VAT. I live in the UK, and assumed when taxes were added to my checkout this included VAT. Am I to assume I may yet be charged VAT on my order and the £8 Post Office handling fee?
If this is so, can I please cancel as I can pick the game up retail instead.
Thanks,
Paul

Hi Paul,
You shouldn't have to pay VAT since the price of the disc is $0. The issues with VAT came up when people had multiple items in their cart that added up to an amount over the government's limit for taxable items. I can't remember anyone having to pay VAT for the free disc, but if that happens for some reason, just let us know and we'll reimburse you.

I hope you do - that's the point of having download versions! Instant gratification!
There is a bug with Culture Shock in Vista, so if you're using Vista, please email support@telltalegames.com and ask for the Vista version. The other games are fine on Vista.
