Hi all!

I downed SamnMax Season one epi4 for free. Great! Gives me a chance to try it.

But now I have a problem. I have Windows XP machine and a Vista machine. In my XP I removed Internet Explorer (since I had firefox). Now when I run it on the XP machine, it opens the telltale screen, then that opens firefox and I get a crappy screen with "click here to run the game" in the upperleft corner.

Then I tried it on my Vista machine and voila, I get a normal screen and it works fine.

So now my question. Is it possible to run it without IE? Command line option or so? It can't be that the whole working of the game depends on IE.... Can it?

Regards,

Famke

The game does require that Internet Explorer be installed, yes. Since removing IE requires modifying the OS, we can't really support it.

Removing the "Internet Explorer" is NOT a modification to the OS !
Why do you think, MS had to pay such large sums ?
The OS and the browser have to be independent !
Itīs the "explorer core" that matters.
But even this can be patched.
Started programming on a Commodore 128, so I Know what squeezing BITS and using resources means.
If a programmer says "this is IE dependend" (browser), he doesnīt know his job !

Legal settlements aside, If you have to patch the OS, you're modifying the OS, I'm afraid.

Just redownload Internet Explorer here (http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx).
