It's official! (http://www.telltalegames.com/community/blogs/id-324)

We'll be updating the site with a trailer, screens, and an FAQ at about 1:00 Pacific time, so make sure to check back for that. :)

NO WAY! NO WAY! NO WAY! NO WAY! Strongbad rocks and this is from Telltale! NO WAY! You guys rock! Now I can't wait to hear about pricing and the exact release date!

Now, which version do I buy? PC or WiiWare?

Todd Evf
04/10/2008, 07:34 am
wow. I know I didn't see this one coming. I heard there were two new properties, and didn't expect Homestar Runner's Strong Bad to be one of them. I might have to break down and get a Wii now. . .

. . . if I can find one.

Sam & Max, Bone, and now a Homestar Runner game... It's like they're picking my mind of all my favourite things!

So... that's about 9pm GMT, I think.
Will the Wiiware and PC games come out at the same time? I'm swaying towards getting the PC version, just because that's where my gaming heart lies.

Great license! This is gonna be awesome.

Also, though I'm a proud Wii owner and will surely be buying the WiiWare version of this game, I'm happy to see that the series won't be limited to the service.

I had nothing to do with this and deserve no thanking. The flash was done by the Chaps, the in-engine 3D stuff by Nick and the massive massive amount of webpage stuff soon to be released is Doug, Jake, Mike, Eric and Emily.

And I could list all the guys who made the engine, modeled the characters, etc, but that's pretty much the entire company. They rock.

Sorry, that's what I meant. :p It was a typo. Sewiously you guys.

Actually, if we're going to be completely honest here, I was torn between putting 'rabbit' or 'rabid', only to decide on the latter. And then along came my typo! I'd personally say that 'rabbit dog' is probably better because of the fact that the second name is either a bunny or a man.

And as this post ends, my sleep is soon to begin.
No, wait, forget that! Coffee here I come!

I misinterpreted that as being refreshing for fanatics. I'm not a fanatic of refreshing, sadly, since our DSL is slugging along slower than ever before. At least I can see the H*R trailer - and I love the art style! Considering that H*R characters are notoriously impossible to express in 3D, I like how the gameplay retains that flat hand-drawnlylike-shaded quality. Unless I only imagined that, in my insomnia-induced stupor - I should watch it again.

Subtitles? The good lunatics at the H*R Wiki (http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php/Main_Page) have a solution for you - get Firefox (if you haven't already) and follow the instructions for their Greasemonkey Code. (http://www.hrwiki.org/index.php/User:Phlip/Greasemonkey)

So, let's put this all together:

1) The Homestar Runner gang, along with its creators, have made one of the most popular pop culture icons in the last five years. And never jumped away from the website...
2) The Wii, arguably the most popular of all the 3 new game systems.
3) Telltale games, with several former LucasArts developers and makers of the uber-popular Sam & Max games.

I'm sorry, but my brain can't comprehend the awesomeness behind all of this.

However, I did mention this to my roommate last night, who also shared my unending excitement and said "Wait, so it's episodic? And you download it right off the Wii? Oh, my god, they're all going to make so much money off of this."

I think this is only valid for the English-speaking countries, I'm afraid. I sware nobody in Italy does even know what Homestar Runner is. Not that I'm worried, this is almost an original IP, from a foreign point of view. ;)
I've browsed through some of the flash animations and I think it's funny... enough. Considering I wasn't a big fan of Bone and I liked the Bone games a lot, I trust Telltale completely on this. I also like the cel-shaded look, it's something different. :)

Nope. It's Matt Chapman voicing all the characters, just like in the cartoons.

In the cartoons and the game, both Chapman brothers and Missy Palmer (Mike's wife) are the voice actors. Matt does the bulk of characters, but not all of them.

Maybe you're just used to hearing their voices compressed via horrible Flash audio bit rates.

Jake
04/11/2008, 11:09 am
Andrew Chaikin filled in as The Cheat, but I bet nobody noticed!

note: I am lying here. The Chapmans provided all voices, as always.

They beefed up their recording equipment so there would be less room hiss and clunking around in their recordings, which might be why everyone sounds a bit different to some people's ears - their recordings are significantly cleaner than they've been in the Flash shorts.

SBCG4AP people will have widescreen, just as Season Two of Sam & Max has widescreen.

Keep in mind that the list of resolutions in the game are polled to what both the computer and the game can do. Since Sam & Max Season Two & CSI Hard Evidence, widescreen has been apart of our design specifications. The only titles that don't do widescreen are:
Sam & Max Season One
Both Bone titles
Telltale Texas Hold'em.

er, yes. I meant 16x9. Whoops! The reason I don't like 5x4 is that nothing is built for it. Everything is built for 4x3 or 16x9, so if you try to squeeze it into 5x4 you either have to lose stuff off the sides or vertically stretch it, neither of which is good.
