Can't always save game

When I play Bone I can't always save the game at the point I've reached. Here's the scenario:

1) Click the icon in the lower right
2) Select the choice to Save
3) Select Save icon for one of the slots
4) Nothing happens
5) Go back to main menu and quit
6) Restart the game
7) You're back at your previous save

Sometimes I'm able to save in which case the slot gets a title like 'At the fair' or whatever.

Any help is appreicated; thanks in advance

Has the game been unlocked already? Saving is disabled in the demo.

Also, are you using an administrator account? If you're using a limited user account, saved games can't be written.
