The 1936 alternate universe would provide a good opportunity for a black and white episode, an idea which has been tossed around these forums a while back (see here (http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4519)) and apparantly has circulated in the office for much longer even (see post 15 (http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showpost.php?p=54919&postcount=15)). If they are going to do one any time soon, this would be the most auspicious time.

Strong Bad: You make a great couple of badly misspelled and grammatically woeful points there, BRITTNEY WRITTEN IN ALL CAPS.

I mean, why would I want to have a game based soley around my off-the-chart levels of awesome when I can just have one that just copies everything that those RectangleSoft company guys or the Smashing Brothers guys already did?

As great as it would be to have the mega-franchise team up game, I don't think that I wanna bother with all of those legal wranglings and multi-layered copyright trademark hogtyings, that it would take just to have to share screen time with a bunch of other well known characters that might threaten to shoehorn in on my style.

Hecks no to that! Also you should think about legal proceedings to change your name to being less caps lock-y. I doubt that middle school role call or company picnics can be very much fun for you when everyone has to shout your name loudly everywhere you go.

Oh it's all smiles and laughter at first but it's gotta get painfully old, sooner or later. Probably sooner than later.

Better just stick to that embarrassingly typoed, unoriginal screen name with the unnecessary number tacked on the end-action you got going on.

This post is on the long side, but bear with me here (or skip to the last paragraph; either one, really)...
In that recent On the spot episode (http://www.gamespot.com/shows/on-the-spot/?series=on-the-spot&event=on_the_spot20080605), look at the demonstration from roughly 22:10 onwards. Notice how after passing by Bubs', Strong Bad goes on to arrive at Strong Badia, the Gremlin, the photo booth, the drive-thru and The Stick, all without any delay or map use !. You can even see the Gremlin from Strong Badia and the booth from the Gremlin!

Note the icon that briefly appears in the top left of the screen at each new place. The box points at the map icon, and neither appears when going to Bubs' using the map nor when going to Strong Badia the second time. From this we may conclude that it means "location added".

But waittaminute! This can mean only one thing: FREE ROAMING! Yes, imagine just walking from one place in Free Country USA to another without any noticeable lag and without needing anything more than your intimate knowledge of its spatial arrangement. What if I say that's the real reason they're taking a bit longer?

Not all environments are accessible without load (for instance, arriving at Marzipan's house or Strong Bad's house has a load), but many of the environments in out in the outdoors in Homestar Ruiner are explorable without load times. It's very cool!

A day and night feature is not that important. While still cool, some plot points may rely on time of day, and me waiting 12 hours just to eat toast in the morning is not happening. Although, it would extend the game length...

Do we all understand yet that Telltale is not going to answer our questions unless the information is trivial or has already been released? That goes for almost every video game company. Why would Telltale be any different?

I have come up with an insane and unlikely but completely awesome theory concerning those map areas that exist in the same space (Strong Badia, the Gremlin, etc.). I think that there is a possibility, however slim, that moving those things around on the map actually changes their positions in the free-roaming area. We could be able to wield the power of God... or a really overzealous geographer.

Edit: I've thought of the problem of what would happen if a seperately loaded area (like Strong Bad's house) was placed between two or more free-roamers or groups thereof. If my crazy theory is correct, they would be split into two or more seperate areas.

I think that the "separately loaded areas" might be part of a "free-roamer", i.e. you could go to the outside of Strong Bad's house without loading, and you would then enter his house from this area, not by coming to it from a separate map area (i.e. Bub's). I have no idea if that's the case, but that's what seems like the easiest solution to me.

i somehow think that this would ruin the feeling of the game...the mii characters have a totally different style as h*r. also, the range of h*r-characters is quite limited ever since it was created and suddenly having a bunch of miis in there would be totally wrong.

Perhaps I've missed it, but will there be subtitles in the game ? I ask this because both Pom-Pom and The Cheat are completely unintelegible and I can rarely understand what Strong Mad and Homsar are saying.

Also I would love to see a refference to The Bro-thernal Order of Different Helmets somewhere. I simply loved that short. And I would like to see a refference to Trogdor, that simply is a must.

I don't know, that just seems so... cliche. I'm not against the idea of visiting the oldtimey and 20X6 worlds, but they would have to go about it in the right way. Finding a time machine just isn't something Strong Bad would do.

I'm wondering if every episode will fit on the Wii's hardrive og 512MB, apparently, there's going to be a way Nintendo are hoping will solve this problem, I'm expecting a memory card of some sort to fit in the USB slot in the back, anyone else got any thoughts on the size of the game?

Also, does anyone know the price? (I know no one does, I was just trying to start conversation...) I think it should be 500 Wii points. (How cheap am I!?) But, tons of people would buy it, I know loads of people including myself, would buy it even if it was 1000 instead, but it's got a lot more potential for 500 Wii Points, and it fits perfectly into my Wii Point balance of 2500! :P

I believe they're going to be a mere 40MB a piece; they can still squeeze hours worth of content in since the character models are very simple (it's not unusual to not have fingers... or hands... or arms...) and the textures are too.
The pricing is said to be in line with that of the Sam & Max episodes, so it will probably be closer to 1000 Wii Points per episode than 500.

Double the amount of people can afford it, thus, still making the same profit and introducing people into the series, and maybe for Episode 2, they can introduce the 1000 Wii Point price tag, that's just my opinion though! :P

Nah, I'd make it the first. That way, people will be more inclined to download it and then if they like it they'll continue to get the next episodes.

I think I get what your main point is, though. I don't usually like jokes like your "Hey, remember that spaceship from that one time?" example, because it's like they're going "Here's the joke, laugh at it!", and I don't like that. I'm more hoping there's stuff like Strong Bad randomly (not "randomly", per se, but having some context, just not a Dangeresque one) going "Looks like we're gonna have to juuump!" or something. Like, for example, if a hurdle event were in the race in Episode one and SB said that. Hopefully TellTale could think of something much funnier than that, because that's kinda lame, but hopefully you get my point.

Well, to use one example, the "driving the car" idea isn't that great (I'm using that one because the suggester admitted it wasn't great, but there are others that I won't mention). It just doesn't fit in a SB point-and-click adventure. Many of these, when you really stop and think about it, either wouldn't work at all, or would be very limited. Maybe some of these ideas would work in other styles, but not point-and-click.

As a random example, at first, it may sound like a great idea to play as The Cheat, but if you think about it, that removes all of the dialogue, so it wouldn't really work as well as it first sounds.

I really don't think there will be many (if any) episodes based on just one certain theme. Some fans may or may not like that theme, making the episode aimed toward the crowd who likes it. Besides, I'd rather see a few Dangeresque references here, and a few Old Timey references there; than just one episode dedicated to each.

Making Dangeresque: Not just an episode where Dangeresque is the main character, but an episode where you play Strong Bad who is making Dangeresque 3D. While filming, you could make decisions that effect the dialogue and action of the actual movie, and once it's all done, you can watch your own unique movie! In between filming, Strong Bad would also have to go on various quests to help with making his movie, such as finding his Dangeresque costume.
Jibblies 3: The sequel to the toon Jibblies 2, where you have to stop the creepy painting and collect Halloween costumes. This one would be released in October, of course.
Working for Bubs: Bubs hires Strong Bad to steal items of interest from other characters for the concession stand. These items could include Marzipan's Answering Machine, Strong Sad's DNA Evidence, etc.

here are two Ideas of mine:

Strong and Bad, Freelance Police from the 50th 60th and 70th centuries: one day, Strong Bad spends the morning downloading games and charging them on Strong Sad's credit Card, with Homestar and The Cheat there by coincidense, when some mysterious flashing spark transports them to the office of Sam and Max: Freelance Police, and the 5 of them set out to find out who exactly brought them there and why! (I know not possible, but a man can dream can't he? did I mention you would finally get to play as Max in this one? ;) )

The Homestar of Town: Strong Bad can't make it in this game so Homestar fills in. The King of Town's term as King runs short, so he calls for a re-election, in Which Homestar steps up to run against him

the E-mail was retirement and if you view it you'll find out that the lappy already went missing, in fact the reason the lappy was kiddnaped was so the two ghost computers could each answer one more email.

I wouldn't push it out of the way so quickly. It could be like the Midtown Cowboys puzzle in Sam and Max Season 1, but larger and more of a parody of action movies than sitcoms. At least we can still comfortably assume it won't be out later than the 28th. :D That's not so bad, just get hobbies people.

Here's some episode ideas of mine:
Making Dangeresque: Not just an episode where Dangeresque is the main character, but an episode where you play Strong Bad who is making Dangeresque 3D. While filming, you could make decisions that effect the dialogue and action of the actual movie, and once it's all done, you can watch your own unique movie! In between filming, Strong Bad would also have to go on various quests to help with making his movie, such as finding his Dangeresque costume.

For the record, I'm still hoping Nintendo releases it early in a massive blunder. Watching big companies mess up is really quite amusing*. And also it has the game out sooner. That's a plus.

*And I mean the big companies. You know, the ones that don't really have anything major at stake. Like Nintendo. Not the small companies like Telltale. That's just sad. But when it happens to a big corporation, it's quite amusing.

How about one where Strong Sad makes a TV channel full of educational crap, which doesn't appeal to the Strong Badians whitch leads to them trashing the place surrounding Strong Bad's house. The goal is to erase the channel by gaining acsess to the building by getting various items.

Not to be negative or anything, but.... the game was planned to be released in July, but with Telltale having a playable copy at the ComiCon on July 26, and a release date yet to be announced... it seems that an August release is upon us. Of course, I would absolutely love to be proved wrong.:D
