I've received an email from Telltale (as have many of you have too I imagine) that ep 2 is free but I am unable to activate it using my telltale account, and I cannot get an activation serial for it.

something wrong on my end? I don't see similar threads over here.

I think it was just telling you the episode was available and not free.

"Strong Badia the Free" is the title of the game... it's not a free game. :p

Of course, there is a free demo (http://www.telltalegames.com/demo/strongbadiathefree) you can play. :)

Boo. :( There was supposed to be one email for season subscribers and a separate email for people who are signed up for updates from Telltale, but it looks like the emails may have gotten mixed up.

Definitely not a scam! Just human error. :p

And the free demo asks for a serial number on startup, which presumably, one has to pay for, since none is provided with said free demo.

Click on "No thanks, take me to the demo"

Click on "No thanks, take me to the demo"

That doesn't appear on the startup screen, only a box to enter a serial number and a "submit query" button. Here's a screenshot:

You get that when you either have IE uninstalled or javascript is turned off.

Yeah, if you're getting the 'emergency wrapper' (the super ugly bare bones one) it means that either JavaScript is disabled or is being blocked by third party software (usually overzealous antivirus or security software).
